Eeesh! I am running out of local programming to boycott after slamming the ABC affiliates WFTS and WWSB for Jennings and Maher. Shouldn't be a problem as long as Bay News 9 doesn't screw up.
Thanks for the WFLA heads-up. Any feedback from Glenn Beck on this? I saw a story about Oregon banning flags on buses on his website, but not this story closer to home.

There are bunch of misguided and misdirected people in this state. I, along with the other freepers of this state are in charge of changing the corrupted attitudes of these people. This state (now we found out the hijackers called it a 2nd home) has some very anti-American factions within it.

Might be the time to use some of those Wild Weasels!

The target of our counter-attack is Mr. Forrest Carr, who is the news director of WFLA TV Channel 8. He is the initiator of this public relations disaster and the one who needs to be FIRED!
His email address is: fcarr@wfla.com
The direct dial telephone numbers for WFLA are:
WFLA Main Newsroom: (813) 221-5788
WFLA Fax: (813) 225-2770

The reaction of the young lady who took my complaint at WWSB was classic. She just kept saying "oh my God". Notice they were almost down to all PSA's for ads last night, so we know it's working.

Tell me about it, they arrested one in my home town at a Denny's the other night. That's scary as hell. Almost as much as the PC police attacking the President before the first shot from us is fired.

That's good to hear. Wouldn't be surprised if they have a policy change by dinner-time. Frankly, I think they need a personel change but I'll be happy if they just change this outrageous policy. Still, I'll never watch them again.

Thanks for the WWSB sponsor update. I sent an email to
contact40@wwsb.com last night, and held good on my word:
In response to Peter Jennings and Bill Maher, I have
removed the local ABC affiliate WWSB from my television
channel tuner. I have had enough. While ABC supports Maher's freedom of speech, you clearly
uphold Peter Jennings socialist, anti-President Bush
editorial comments under the cryptic guise of news reporting.
I also told them I had been a daily viewer of their local news programming for more than three years, and that I would miss them.
Alas, I haven't heard from them.

Who is Beamer? He was one of the 3 guys that caused the airliner to crash on the 11th. He always said "Let's Roll" when with his wife and two boys and they were going somewhere - he was overheard on his cellphone saying the same thing to the other two guys on the plane, apparently right before they overpowered the hijackers and crashed the plane.
To: Jefferson Adams
That's right. Boy, what a sad story.

"You never saw Edward R. Murrow wearing a ribbon..." I'm not old enough to remember but I'm fairly certain that Murrow never had occassion to, or felt the need to criticize the Government.
To: Bloody Sam Roberts
Just called again and spoke to Forrest Carr's secretary. She says that their policy is not to allow the display of any red white and blue ribbons...period.
These knuckleheads are not getting the message, it would seem.

Their response to my email and my replay: """"We apologize for any misunderstanding. It has long been policy at WFLA-TV to prohibit on-air personnel from wearing or displaying insignia of any kind. This to avoid any public perception that Channel 8 has any motivation other than to broadcast truthful, fair and accurate information no matter the story or issue. The Station has never had a policy disallowing on-air personnel, if they so chose, to wear an American flag pin. Please excuse us if our policy in some way offended you. NewsChannel 8 remains "On Your Side" and will continue to air newscasts with that goal in mind. Eric S. Land President and General Manager WFLA-TV"""" So what your saying is that if your a patriotic American you might not be truthful or you might have some hidden agenda. Do you make you newscaster hide behind a screen to mask their ethnic heritage in order to present a completely unbiased report without some hidden agenda. Maybe you should hire only Martians so as not to present a bias driven by living on earth. You broadcast from the USA don't you. My guess is that you need to be honest and admit that the people who made this policy probably have a blame America first adgenda. You can do what you wish, America is a free country, but we are also free to stop watching your news and advertisers are free to stop buying time from you. Good luck to you and I hope you can show some patriotism when a young soldier dies to protect you and your freedoms.
