Oh, so AIPAC owns the Asian Times too, eh? Do you have another source that disagrees?
You asked a question and answered it in the next question. Israel has broad support among people who are not Jewish. It is not all the work of the Israel lobby.
Don't be so hard on her, can't you see she's in pain! She learned CNN was going to run her six times per hour, for five days, and no royalties!
Look to the media's influence on people.
Doesn't it seem strange to you that the massacre of upwards of nine million Ukrainians in the Artificial Famine of 1932-3 is basically unkown, in the U.S.? I saw the Diary of Anne Frank movie in around 1959, the nuns of our school had Anne Frank's father there to speak to us. From that point till now, I probably hear of the holocaust twice a month. Admittedly it is heinous beyond belief. But no less so is the intentional starvation of 1/4th of a nation! Why did I never hear of this event in history, through all the years of a U.S. education, through graduate school, and forty years of movies and T.V. shows, while still in the states?
Would it surprise you to know the New York Times squelched it, the reporter, Duranty lied about it. Times has never retracted.
YEP. And Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Stalin, Che, etc etc. Some people take "never forget" very VERY VERY seriously...
I am just about sick of the self appointed thread nannies.
I, like, I'll wager 99% of Freepers do NOT spend hours at the keys, as a thread nanny must.
I was glad that this was in the "latest posts" so I could read what I missed yesterday, as I went about a real life.
Trite but true to you Thread Nannies
Get a life.
Now there are persistent reports of early warnings, and other evidence that the US was warned/aware, and no mention was given to the public. I don't wish to impune the integrity of our law enforcement,(they do that well enough on their own) but this really makes me curious. I hope that this does not turn to outrage if US citizens find out that there was some kind of coverup or other intentional delay is the disemination of such vital information.
NO, I just did a search of Israel weapons technology transfer China and came up with 4,000 hits, I didn't find the one I was searching for, but this came pretty close. I know it was Mother Jones, mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!
Regardless of the source, it's a fact the U.S. has built up Israel's military and Israel has sold and/or wishes to sell sensitive technology to our enemies. Of course Clinton has done the same, as has some corporations in the U.S. I also detest this!
Yes the "commies" have an evil history, but after learning of the Ukrinian incident and posting it here, I never here people like you condemn it. Why?
Perhaps Mark Twain can help to answer: "...there are some natures which never grow large enough to speak out and say a bad act ia a bad act , until they have inquired into the politics or the nationality of the man who did it."
Why do do certain groups continually display the pain done to them, but refuse to talk about or admit the pain their own people caused to others? You know I'm referring to the collaboration with the communists in the 1930's: Lazar Kaganovitch, welcoming of "commies" to Poland, long before the beginning of the holocaust, etc, etc.
Why do I almost never see anyone of the rabid "kill all Palestinians" group accept some responsibility for their own groups past actions?
But that is my point. It graphically, glaringly, illustrates the myopic view of our education and media. We grew up thinking that America was an open free society, with free access to all information. A spirit of open search for the truth. But there is a blinder on one eye! Or should we say a mote in both eyes.
When I started seeing the "kill all Palestinian" posts here, months ago, I felt it was only the people with close connections and affection for Israel speaking from their emotion and rage. Ideally I'd like to se a few of them admit that some Jews did some horrendous things in the years prior to the second world war. I'd like to see hollywood do a movie on the Ukrainian incident, maybe a movie on Gertrude Bell and the days of Britain dividing up the middle east.
At least I'd like to see other Americans, not so close to this conflict, admit our media is quite lacking in balanced information about peoples of the middle east. I'd like them to be more well informed. Then they can make better decisions about what is in America's best interest and not be so influenced by people who have a dual loyalty problem.
