Good evening conservobabe I’m happy to see you back.

Let me explain my position as quickly as I can. Many posters believe the attack just happened like a mugging in the street. I wanted to point out that US has been throwing bombs at several countries in the last few years. Whether these attacks were justified or not is not relevant. The person on the receiving end would never feel they were justified. The result is you have a attacked and one of them or group of them has retaliated. Attacking countries and being attacked is known as war. I don’t think that requires elaboration.

These second fallacy was these were cowardly attacks directed at civilians. Other may argue that these were attacks against the command and control centers of the enemy. The Pentagon certain was, the white house attack which failed would have been and the attack on nerve center of American business banking communications fall under that heading also – a much as a power station, a television station, oil refinery etc. all manned by non military personnel.

In fact all terrorists attacks in general have been against American military or government installation and not attacks against civilians per se. This has not been the case for terrorist attacks against Israel. The hijacking of the planes were to convert them into, cruise missiles, to further a military objective not simply to kill civilians. Thus they could be all considered acts of war against a State not random terrorism against civilians as used against Israel or by the Russian government in Chechnya.

Therefore, acts of war have been committed against you, and you have the right and the duty, as does every country, to retaliate after being attacked.

One can be shocked, one can be horrified, but one can not consider it unprovoked. It is simply a warlike act in a series of warlike acts that have been going on for several years. Because this time it happened on American soil does not make it any different. That’s how wars are waged and have been waged from the beginning of time.

Now retaliate against the bastards. Learn to war, not to whine.

Does anyone here have a comment about the Letterman/Rather tears session last night? Genuine or theater?

I think Rather is Senile. His actions this last year have not just been liberal, they have been weird.

My hubby thinks he's definitely shaky. I've been so disgusted by the liberal performances of the top media anchors, that I sadly don't pay much attention anymore. I tend to take whatever is said by he, Brokaw, Jennings, et al with a 40-pound bag of salt.

That's the most recent example. There just is no other explanation, except maybe halucinogenic drugs.

Servant, your post on the previous thread concerning religion was personally insulting and not worthy of your intellectual ability.

If we did as many Fundies wish, and abandoned the 1st Amendment and made this a Christian Country, I can tell you how it would go.

Servant, will you do this "Fundie" a favor and point to where we call for abandonment of the 1st Amendment? Do you not realize that Baptists were a major force--perhaps the major force--in insisting on religious freedom in this country and on its guarantee under the Constitution?

Within 10 years it would be down to a power struggle between the Baptists and the Evangelicals as to which would survive.

I am sorry to learn that like another talented individual on this thread, you feel that Baptists are a threat to your freedom. I won't try to convince either of you otherwise. I'll just say that you are poorly informed.

I was scooting around the threads and there is a new virus out there related to the last worm. It is called the W32.Nimda.A@mm.

Be sure to update hour antivirus programs and run them. Also if yuou find admin.dll in your root folder and it has been modified in the last 24 hours disconnect your machine from the corporate network. Do not open any attachments witht the " readme" in the file name. Use Extreme caution when checking any non-corporate imail accounts including Hotmail and yahoo mail etc.

There is an article on the FR sites called NIMDA VIRUS ALERT and it was posted today.
