It is not always easy or fun sitting at a computer for hours and hours monitoring these threads. Everyone person here is a VOLUNTEER. As a matter of fact, we pay to do this. We spend days and weeks helping to keep FreeRepublic running.

Ask yourself these questions:

Where is the first place I go to get my news?
Am I getting any benefit from FreeRepublic?
Am I learning from FreeRepublic?

FreeRepublic is not free. It costs Jim Robinson tens of thousands of dollars to keep this forum running. There are over 60,000 registered users on FreeRepublic and only 1,000 help keep this forum running regularly. Those who do not have the ability to donate money could help by stopping by and giving a bump. Those who who do have the means and have not contributed, you should be ashamed of yourselves. You are a FReeploader.

We do not want to see this forum dead, therefore, we are asking that you help keep FreeRepublic running.

If everyone who registered donated one measly dollar a month, we would never have to have a fundraiser again.

Thanks to you and all the other stalwart FReepers working on the fundraiser threads.

There is a wealth of information on each fundraising thread -- wonderful speeches, poetry, graphics, cartoons, patriotism at its best -- and the comraderie of all who help is plain to see.

Free Republic is the only site to be when something of historic proportions is happening. We have posters across the country ready to share the news as it unfolds, giving out information that hasn't broken on radio or TV and providing personal insights into the event. The information posted here is invaluable.

Daily, Free Republic is filled with the news of the day from across the country and the world. We know or suspect that many well-known figures lurk at Free Republic on a regular basis and use information or research posted here.

Just ask yourself where you would be able to go on the world wide web and be as satisfied if Free Republic ceased to exist. The Drudge Report certainly has many links and some articles highlighted and the same with l.com, but there is no commentary by individual posters, no debate, no sharing of ideas, no critiques, no family of people brought together by similar principles and love of country.

Free Republic is unique. It's demise would leave a huge void in the Internet. Please donate if you haven't already done so or pass this request along to family, friends and co-workers. Let's raise enough for the next quarter and then some to keep Free Republic running smoothly. Thank you.

I agree, lots of folks have been helpp2in2g out - and I too didn't get in5866volved this quarter until rather late (because I was embarrased that I could not help out any further financially)- but there is no doubt that what you did today had a major impact on the level of contributions.

Beautiful dog, wonderful picture! I have 2 German Sheppards. They are so loyal and what noses they have. Did you know Canada sent dog boots for the rescue effort? They were getting burned and cut feet.
