That mind-boggling photo of the World Trade Center in flames and billowing smoke that showed an almost perfect image of a satanic face is real and not doctored, says the man who took the picture. According to Mark D. Phillips, president of StellarImages Productions Inc., the photo is genuine and the image of a satanic figure was present when he shot the picture.
"As a photojournalist for over 20 years, I have photographed many horrifying events, but nothing prepared me for the two hours that took place Tuesday morning," Phillips said. "I cried as I shot the photographs of the towers burning. Never in my wildest imagination did I expect one of these photographs to cause a stir beyond the horror of what occurred.
"Through a split-second of a camera's shutter, I captured an image that many people are saying shows the face of the devil on the side of the burning tower. The image was also seen in videotape. I cannot explain how or why this happened, but those who think I somehow doctored the photograph are wrong."
Phillips is a well known photographer who has worked for the Morganton News Herald (NC), the Augusta Chronicle (GA), the Tampa Tribune (FL), The Associated Press (NY) and Agence France-Presse (NY). The photo can be seen at http://www.stellarimages.com/

ROTFLMAO!! But seriously. I always get a kick out of these things. Someone sent me some numerology nonsense, that "proved" the mathematical significance of 9-11. Of course, the end-of-world religious nuts of the 1980s seem to be re-emerging. And, of course, there's that face on the moon ... and finding the Virgin Mary on all manner of edifices, etc. People need a reason ... a purpose ... an explanation ... for what happened. So, I'm not the least bit surprised that people would be seeing "things" in the "smoke" of the WTC fire.

Jesus in the clouds. The Virgin Mary on chocolate. The face on the moon. And many many more. It's an amazing thing to watch people deal with tragedy. Most people cannot tolerate uncertainty - they must know why ... must have a reason. Finding a "picture" of Satan in the WTC smoke is certainly one way for people to feel more certain as to WHY this event occurred. I'm sure people will discover other "things" in the days ahead to cope with the WHYs of this tragedy.
