It's just a red bullet headline on my Reuters terminal. No text. Following headline says Paki troops are moving in response. I'll look for a link.

I hope we give them that opportunity.

Afghanistan doesn't even HAVE an army. This is so bogus that it's funny.
Maybe, just maybe, there are 25,000 Afghan refugees on the border, some of whom have some crappy old rifles. There is no threat to Pakistan, at least from this source.

Refugees again. They always show up at these things.

I agree, 1 mt would eliminate that group...

Does anyone have a link to a good M.E. map so I can orient myself? And I'm also looking for that map going around last week that showed the "new" Middle East... the one that had a "new Texas" on it. Let me know when you find it. I want that map too!

No. China hates him. He has stirred up a mess of anti-Chinese terrorist attacks in Western China in the past year. China's border is sealed tight, and they're just waiting for us to begin using military assets to publically justify what they've been doing in their own country against terrorism for years.

Islam is not the target; it a bunch of criminals who have twisted the Koran into something that wasn't intended. Muslims have very strict teachings. When you hear about these terrorists hanging out in Florida strip bars, that says it all. The biggest problem will be if Muslims unite behind these extremists. I think any person who claiming to be a child of God (Muslim or otherwise) who supports Bin-Laden is not practicing their faith. Islam is not the problem. We need to take out all of the rebel rousers so people all over the world can practice their faith in peace.

Here is the proposed map of the new Middle East done by our own FlJoePA:
DoughtyOne proposed that Texaco should be labeled toast and colored black. His image is currently unavailable due to exceeding traffic allotment on his server.

Islam is not the target; it a bunch of criminals who have twisted the KoranNo, I'm afraid the Koran doesn't have to be twisted to give them justification for their jihad. It quite clearly calls for the slaughter of "infidels" without mercy in exactly the manner they claim it does.
Peace-loving Muslims of good faith simply ignore those parts of the Koran that are being invoked to justify bin Laden's anti-West jihad.
We need to stop being politically correct, excusing the plainly inexcusable with half information and false information.

AppyPappy, I was a little young during Vietnam. However I did go and look up some references to Operation Linebacker and it seems to me that 1 and 2 were one of the successes of the Vietnam War. I really would like a clarity on the point you were making. I'm a little slow Today and still am reeling from the hit to my community in NYC.

To put it bluntly, we bombed the shit out of them. We bombed concentrations of troops with B-52 strikes.

Have you read the Old Testament? God sent the Jews to wipe out whole peoples and allowed the Jews to be wiped out for their transgressions. The Koran speaks of infidels attacking Islam much like Armegeddon. The pagans of Biblical times were fond of genocide. Infidels are Godless people bent on destroying believers in the Koran's eyes.
I know several Muslims and I have yet to hear of one hacking non-believers to death. Could be a coincidence.
Manical nuts always find willing stooges for their work. Sometimes they use religion, sometimes they use nationalism, sometimes they use overwraught conspiracies. There's no shortage of these types.

Nah -- the Chinese have no interest in him (and a significant disinterest in his brand of radical Islamism spreading to their own western territories). If they got him, they'd exchange his sorry ass for a few more trade benefits.

The Boers used Bible verses to justify apartheid. That must mean peace loving Christians are just ignoring those parts of the Bible that were invoked to justify the Boers racial hatred. Anyone who uses religion to justify the slaughter of innocents is an infidel or sinner. Instead of slaughtering all Muslims just because they're not Christians or Jews, we should think about promoting and defending those Muslims who believe nothing in the Koran justifies killing innocent human beings. Bin Laden's followers hang out in strip bars. Hardly devout Muslims.

In contrast to the Afghanis, Pakistan has a modern, professional army. The word "slaughter" springs to mind. And a much larger population. 25,000 is a nuiscance.
