``Some people live their whole lives, long lives, without having left anything behind,'' Lisa Beamer said. ``My sons will be told their whole lives that their father was a hero, that he saved lives. It's a great legacy for a father to leave his children.''

I sure hope GTE has enough smarts NOT to bill the guys credit card for the call.....

"Why does this mean they had a bomb? I don't read this anywhere in this story. The operator told him what had happened in NY, and they surmised that was their fate as well. There is NOTHING in this telling about a bomb." Here it is:
"... told Robinson that there were three knife-wielding hijackers on board, one who appeared to have a bomb tied to his chest with a belt."

Has everyone signed the online petition to have these men get the medal of honor? I even forwarded it to Congress, several of the Senators anyway.

From the text of the above article:
Beamer said her husband placed the call at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday and told Robinson that there were three knife-wielding hijackers on board, one who appeared to have a bomb tied to his chest with a belt.

I heard one Senator (can't remember which one) say that he's recommending the Medal of Freedom for the guys who tried to retake the plane.

The boys in the transport planes are proably getting out the Limp Bizkit CD's right now to keep on ROLLING!!
To: Arleigh
These guys probably saved our White House, maybe the Capitol, probably several thousand lives in downtown Washington. We are all grateful to them.

Amen, CJ. Amen, indeed. May God hold these heroes in the palm of his hand as we hold them in our hearts until we all meet again.

President Bush MUST attend the funerals of these heroes for they saved the White House and, perhaps, the life of Laura Bush!
To: headsonpikes
Just think - this was a random plane-load of ordinary Americans.
Not fanatics. Not commandos. Not holy warriors. Just plain old Americans.
This is the courage and resolve they showed to save their fellow men.
Osama Bin Laden & Co. should consider the repercussions, and tremble.

Beamer said her husband placed the call at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday and told Robinson that there were three knife-wielding hijackers on board, one who appeared to have a bomb tied to his chest with a belt. The other two hijackers took over the cockpit after forcing the pilot and co-pilot out.
You should read the entire post before calling the pot black.
