On a day of national mourning and prayer, a Boca Raton company had its managers confiscate some American flags from employees' cubicles, saying other workers might find them offensive.

Whoever owns this company has to be a raging liberal. They are always the culprits in this type of incident!

Gee, Palm Beach, Fla. How surprising.

What a shame! Everyone should be proud of our flag and the symbols of our country! I wish someone would check to see their DNC connections - I bet there is a smoking gun there.
CFO magazine should be notified as well!

Sometimes I deliberately omit the </sarcasm> tag to count the gotchas.

The company is in Boca Raton. Much more liberal than Palm Beach. Palm has quiet a few conservatives including Rush..

The company is entirely within its rights.
We are within our rights to deprecate its actions, especially when such actions are insensitive.

If the company actually confiscated the flags, they were stealing employee property. They clearly would have absolutely NO right to do that. If they required the employees to take them down and put them away, they may have the technical right to do that. However, if I were one of the employees affected, I would refuse to take my flag down.

I work for a very "PC" on-line brokerage; however, the person that runs it is a Vietnam vet, and always remembers to say "God Bless" to us in his memos, I saw him being interviewed during election night and I was certain he was a demoncrap because of the PC of this company, but now I believe it's just because it is in Cali and the laws have become so strict and people are so litigious... We had a meeting on the day of Remembrance, and he had flags given out to EVERY employee, with a banner saying, "Duty, Honor, Country, Family, Community" attached to the bottom of the little pole the flags were on. Compare that the the Money Store (when I worked there) and we weren't allowed to acknowledge Christmas!!!

More brainless episodes from the famed 'Palm Beach County, Florida' peoples. We know who he voted for last November.

I have just written to their
customer service e-mail address with the following message;
Dear NCCI,
I believe that you have made a BAD mistake in your removal of the US Flags brought by your employees to work as a reflection of support for the Nation during this time of trial. I understand that you have policies prohibiting display of anything that is political or religious, but this should not be a straight-jacket in these changing circumstances. If this is the policy by which you are ordering the removal of the flags, you are explicitly stating that being a patriotic American displaying the US Flag is a political statement. In this tragically changed country, of which you are individual and corporate citizens, you have alienated individuals like me and made your corporate identity odious. May I suggest that you, at the very least, suspend the rule(s) against the display of our Nation's Flag for the normal 30 days of mourning. Personally, I think that you should make a permanent, specific exemption about such displays so long as they are of the appropriate size for the space concerned.
Very sincerely,

To this company, the American flag is just a "political symbol" like a swastika or a communist party emblam!This company needs a BIG FREEP!!

I drove by a little boy yesterday, about 9 or 10 years old, just sitting on the corner next to his house facing a busy street, sitting in a chair waving a large flag. It appears we haven't all been taken over by the pod people, thank God!

Chief Executive Officer Bill Schrempf said Friday in a memo to employees. On the assumption that this campany has an American board of directors, I hope this clymer finds the lady at the unemployment office agrees with him.

email to their customer service...
==================================
"Divisive statements or actions, political or religious discussions and anything else that could ... mean different things to different people are not appropriate in our work environment," Chief Executive Officer Bill Schrempf said Friday in a memo to employees.
What in the HECK is the matter with your management!
You ought to be hanging a FLAG from your front facade, not BANNING them from employees desks.
The US Flag is a NATIONAL symbol - not a political symbol.
It unifies our nation, not divides us.
Rather, your CEO has chosen to divide your company from the entire rest of the nation in this period of extreme duress and strain.
If I EVER have the opportunity to influence any corporate decision where your company is involved, I will make certain your company is banned from doing any business whatsoever.

Well, they may be #1 best workplace or whatever, but they are REALLY bad in the public relations department!
