On a day of national mourning and prayer, a Boca Raton company had its managers confiscate some American flags from employees' cubicles, saying other workers might find them offensive.

Isn't the company w/i it's rights? It is within its rights. It is also within the rights of EVERY real American to express his or her displeasure about it and endeavor to see that the people responsible for such a decisions are made into the corporate pariahs they deserve to be.
It cuts both ways.

Mailed this out to my entire address book. Suggest others do the same.
Quite a shame it won't get the mileage of bogus Nostrodomus quotes and "satan" in the smoke pictures.

Bill Schrempf, you make me sick!!! Not only would I have quit my job (had I been working for you), I'd picket in front of your office and call every news media place in the country to fill them in on your sorry ways.....Hey, I do have a news release list(other freepers, please cut and paste this to all news boards across America) and will be contacting them all....I hope your life takes a turn for the worst. People like him leave a vile taste in my mouth.

Let's remember there are lots of Vietnam-era Democrats out there who are still offended by displays of ultra-nationalism. If you must fly a US flag, how about flying a Viet Cong, IRA, or Palestinian flag as well to show you're not some kind of KKK Nazi? There is no comparison between a U.S. flag and a Viet Cong, IRA, Palestinian, KKK or Nazi banner - especially at a time like this. Any moron can make the distinction. All others should refrain from getting out of bed in the morning.

I'll bet they don't mind making money off of other Americans. I say, let's find out who their clients are and start the campaign to get them fired from their contracts, for promoting anti-American activities.

Celebrating our nation's flag is not a religion. It is our duty to honor the flag. We will not survive if we cannot have this freedom.

Sent this e-mail...
What in the world is this company thinking by not allowing AMERICANS to display the AMERICAN flag in their workspace???? Is this to imply that having a love for your country is offensive to people?
I want to say that it is a sad day when people in this country are not allowed to show support for what their fellow countrymen are doing, and must do in the future. I truely hope that there are some with enough patriotism to take this company to court. Maybe you can be forced to permit what should have been encouraged, not attacked!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you think he would have allowed a flag from Afghanistan or Iraq or the like to be displayed? Of course, that is Corporate America's definition of diversity.

the company has a long-standing policy of prohibiting employees from bringing political or religious symbols into the workplace.I never realized the US flag was a "political" symbol!

Even more amazing, if you go to their web site they have an artist's rendition of their building --
with the U.S. flag flying in front of the building! I sent those jerks the following e-mail:
"I find it very interesting to find that the artist work showing your facility on this site clearly shows the U.S. flag flying in front of your building. Given this statement by your CEO: "Divisive statements or actions, political or religious discussions and anything else that could ... mean different things to different people are not appropriate in our work environment," Chief Executive Officer Bill Schrempf said Friday in a memo to employees. Your CEOs statement is offensive in the extreme, in the context of banning employees from displaying the U.S. flag in their offices during this time of national crisis. If he wished to avoid divisiness, I submit to him and you that he has instead managed to divide himself and his company from rest of the American people. I am an executive with the state agency that invests our Worker's Compensation funds in the state of Washington. I am not yet aware whether your company does any business in this state -- however, if I find out that it does I can assure you completely that I will use all of my influence and contacts to ensure that your company never does business in this state again."

Typical 'liberal' attitude . .
They want to 'milk' this country for all they can get, then they pale at the notion of supporting it.
