>>. I believe we have the necessay cruise missles in the Indian Ocean to take out the binladen base camps, now.<<

And what do we do if after we use these missles North Korea decides to invade South Korea,or China decides it is a perfect time to invade Taiwan? Bubba bin Bombing already fired up our "ready reserve" of cruise missles, essentially leaving us only those we absolutely need in a emergency.

>>Even if they are unoccupied, you have degraded their ability to train terrorist commandoes to project their terrorism. binladen has paid money to build these camps, and you are hitting him hard in the wallet. <<

HorseHillary! They are either tents or caves! These camps are NOT the equivalent of Ft.Bragg or Camp Lejune. No movie halls,no air-conditioned cement barracks,no bowling alleys,no child care centers or schools, etc, etc, etc.

>>DB, I believe alot of the refrain about waiting to insure we do it right is coming from those editorial pages that are always suspicious of the American military and American power.<<

I'd be willing to bet I know more about both than you do.

>> The Pentagon has been planning for this for at least 7 years, we know where the camps are, and the cruise missles are in place. Let's get on with it.<<

Yeah,BOY! YEEHAW! Let's waste multi-million dollar missles we MIGHT need against serious governemnts against a few tents and goat herds!

The "serious" governments understood the concept of mutually-assured destruction. The "serious" governments never attacked the United States and killed this many people.

Those that will give their own lives to kill their enemies are the most dangerous threat to national security. Islamic radicals are the only ones crazy enough to attack with nuclear devices and chemical weapons. Any that are a national security threat must DIE. That's the point of war -- eliminate the threat by force.

Yea-hah, sneakypete, I think you're wrong boy. So we have to worry about what north korea will do at the 38th parallel, or what China might do in the Taiwan straits if we engage the odious forces of the taliban and binladen. No, I think we have to be concerned about what could or might happen in those international flashpoints, but we shouldn't let the what-ifs paralyze our ability to mount an attack on those who are responsible for the deaths and destruction within the American borders. Can you imagine FDR saying after Pearl Harbor that we couldn't go after the Imperial Japanese Fleet because of the possiblity of having an attack on American shipping by German U-boats? Of course not, that's why your argument is fatuous on it's face. The sneakypete doctrine is a sure prescription for the proliferation of more terrorism. We must reject it.
