Taliban given three days to hand over bin Laden

KABUL, Afghanistan -- Pakistan is to give the Taliban rulers of Afghanistan three days to hand over suspected terrorist Osama bin Laden or face U.S. military action.

The ultimatum comes as Pakistan makes eleventh-hour diplomatic efforts to prevent a military strike in the region.

Agreed. bin Laden's head presented on a gold plated pike will not solve this problem. Every country hosting these camps of terrorists and their ilk must either dismantle the camps or invite the U.S. ashore to do it for them.

I've got a feeling that Saddam is behind this and bin Laden is only the rectum of the bird of prey. Everytime some extremist cleric opens his mouth to support the attack, we should take down his number and check his connections as well.

I think we know how bad this is. A lot of us have been up all night going over things and arguing amongst ourselves. There are threads on the United States of Islam... and another on bin Laden meeting Dawood.

It may be worse that originally thought, but better to know that now. Its a horrible mess.

If they are truly 'American,' give us the information on the terrorists. Otherwise, it's deportation time. This isn't the time to be "nice."

And as pointed out in other threads by many freepers, none of the Muslims have openly denounced bin Laden as the 'infidel', that he is. That would help, as maybe more and more would denounce him, making others feel more comfortable about it as well. just a thought.

It may seem like this to you,but it takes time to make plans and move people and equipment into place. Only a fool would go off half-cocked and unprepared on a live-fire military mission. You use the time it takes to prepare militarily by negoiating diplimatically and "grease the skids".

What in hell would we do with him if they give him up??? Be careful what you ask for, you man get it. I have a horrid fantasy of his GOING ON TRIAL in New York with Alan Dersho defending him with a dream team, his getting a hung jury as four of the jurors are arabs and this going on for years. Why put the onus on us for trying him?

That indeed is a dangerous onus. Can you imagine the fear of any court in America that tries these terrorists? Would you be willing to sit on that Jury knowing that there is a strong probability that you will be the target of terrorists who will seek to kill you for exacting judgement on one of their leaders?

It is a silly idea that we can get "Justice" in this situation. To bring Bin Laden to our shores for trial would be to invite terrorism against our Justice system. Just kill him and everyone like him.
