You hit the nail on the head, well done. It is an amazing thing that somehow, perhaps guided by a greater power, the American people somehow always choose the right leaders who rise to greatness in times of great adversity. Look at President Lincoln ill educated and with no military experience. Lets hope we have done the same here.

Thanks for a great article.
I have often wondered about the significance of the title of Bush's campaign autobiography, A Charge to Keep. Forgive me if this has been pointed out before, but that is the title of a hymn by Charles Wesley, which is in the Methodist Hymnal.
I am told Karen Hughes was the actual writer of the book and I haven't read it, so I don't know if it explains the title. But your fine article seemed a good place to call to mind the hymn, which I have thought about a lot as I have watched the President rise to this crisis over the past few days.
1 A CHARGE to keep I have,
A God to glorify,
A never-dying soul to save,
And fit it for the sky;
To serve the present age,
My calling to fulfil:
O may it all my powers engage
To do my Master's will! 2 Arm me with jealous care,
As in thy sight to live;
And O thy servant, Lord, prepare
A strict account to give!
Help me to watch and pray,
And on thyself rely,
Assured, if I my trust betray,
I shall for ever die.
Somehow it seems to me to sound like GWB.

This is absolutely masterful! Your insight, and ability to put these profound truths in writing are awesome. Thank you for this!
I am in tears........tears of joy and thanksgiving that this man is God's appointed man for this dark hour in American history.

Your article is beautifully written! I emailed it to all my friends and family. I hope you send it to some newspapers and they print it for others to read too.
Reminds me of the man who slipped through security at the inauguration who shook the president's hand and gave him a coin of some type (don't remember the details). The man, a minister I believe, said God had a message to let Bush know that he was elected "for such a time as this" (from the book of Esther) and would use him (Bush) in a great way if he remained dependent upon the Lord. Those are the details as I remember them, anyway. This was reported on CBN and other TV stations at the time.
I do believe that President Bush has been placed in his position of power by God's hand. And I am ever grateful!

AWESOME!!! I firmly believe that God has placed the correct man in office.The venom with which some"Americans"have treated him and his cabinet nominees over the past months have been just a foretaste of what is to come. I also am so very thankful that everytime I hear the words"Att. General" on TV and on the radio, I know that John Ashcroft's is the face I see and not that of Janet Reno.When Ashcroft lost to a dead man, who knew what the implications of that would be? God knew .He also knew that "W" would need to be strong and rested for what was and is to come, and I believe that is why our President was able to take a working vacation away from DC. Finally, I'm so thankful that we cannot see the future,but that God is still on the throne and in control.

This was the man who named the absolute top people
</ul This is a man that can do that and not feel inferior. It is the mark of a person that is at ease and comfortable with themselves and who they are. He can proudly share the limelight and not feel jealous.
Thanks for sharing and putting this to print.

I suspect President Bush asked for God's help with that speech. Something happened. He spoke beyond himself. Excellent essay. Thanks.

Thank you for your beautiful words. They are very reassuring. I hope this gets worldwide reading. We at FR already know that President Bush feels that he was called to be president, and he knows that he is the instrument of the Lord. Many others, who have been kept in the dark of the true character of this man, need to see your wonderful description of his commanding presence.
