Some in media can't stop criticizing Bush

Petty press habits persist, despite the national crisis. Even on the national day of mourning, some journalists continued their sniping at President Bush, judging him primarily by the style rather than the content of his message.

"Bush has yet to find a note of eloquence in his own voice. He is, in fact, distrustful of it, and went for Texas plain talk, rhetoric as flat as the prairie and as blunt as a Clint Eastwood soliloquy," wrote Newsweek's Howard Fineman, later noting, "he did not look larger than life at his Oval Office desk, or even particularly comfortable there, and he cited Psalms without the kind of emotional resonance voter-viewers have come to expect from an Empathizer in Chief."

If this isn't aiding and abetting the enemy I don't know what is.

For the first time in months, I tried to watch what CBS was saying. Rather prefaced a report on our President by reminding the audience that Bush barely got into office and then Susan Spencer "reported" that Bush was in the midst of a Clintonesque politcal calculation of his appearance of being a leader.

Rather is burned out and Spencer is reportedly married to some Democrat Party money man. Both are beyond dispising Bush.

Clint Eastwood? Heck President Bush is our national Dirty Harry: Picture him in the famous Ann Coulter pose "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet. Go Ahead And Make My Day." ;-)

My personal favorite for this evening was cbs (or see BS) coverage of how algore and clintler had kissed and made up(ewwwwww) apparently algore got stuck in canada or something and raced down to dc by car and called clinTON to get to the memorial service. I was like, HELLLOOOOOOO!!!Have we forgotten who the president is see BS?!!.

Perhaps we should start a list of requested journalists for the press pool at the front lines.

These journalists are pansies and thus seek reassurance from a president. They are the victims of the feminization of America. What a bunch of weak, scared losers. I don't need reassurance from a president, I need leadership. And, I am getting it. Speak softly and carry a big stick. GW epitomizes it, I can feel it.

Mr. Rosenberg suggested the president should instead function as a "national anchorman.

Bush is doing the right thing, and according to the polls, average Americans grasp the situation, and support him by overwhelming numbers. This must really irk the pundit-intellectual class, who cannot help but sense they are totally out of tune with Americans.

In Orange County, CA: Tonight from 7:00 PM until after 10:00 PM EVERY boulevard intersection had many flag waving patriots out. Will that be on the Communist News Network? It looked like the Sore-Loserman inspired post-election demonstrations.

A conservative has been defined as a liberal, who has been mugged. Many former liberals, I submit, became flag waving, war hungry Americans. With a good outcome maybe they will be Bush voters, next time around.

"...rhetoric as flat as the prairie and as blunt as a Clint Eastwood soliloquy."

Ah, Howie, Clint Eastwood has been one of the most popular movie stars for almost 30 years. Outside of the wimpy liberaldom, people like blunt.

how algore and clintler had kissed and made up

Not from what I saw of them. They didn't even speak to each other. In fact, Clinton turned his back on Gore when they were walking in and waited until Clinton left(which took forever!) before he came out of the church.

In May, 1940, the last appeasers remaining in England were the elite. The British public was solidly pro-war.

I think that is what you will see here. The last people to let go of the paradigm that "this is a tragedy" and "we need to heal" and "President Bush is not up to the job" will be the liberal elite.

President Reagan was able to connect with the public in spite of the media. I sense that President Bush has that same ability, and the polls would appear to bear this out. The pundits who are questioning his competence are only credible with a minority of die-hard liberals.

Andrea Mitchell told this long yarn last night about how those two, Gore and CLinton, are now best of buddies because AL called BIll on his drive back from whever. Her voice was trembling, the story made no sense save the goal of making us feel that Algore is a great guy (?) and she had a very *unprofessional* smile.

These PEOPLE ARE SICK!!!!!!!!

Meanwhile, Fox News gets it. They are talking about patriotism, and unashamedly boosting America. I am SO glad I got satellite and dropped cable, so that I can get an AMERICAN network, as opposed to the others, who apparently don't yet get it!!

Apparently the American people understand that we are at war. Someone should let the press know.
