SPECIAL EDITION
On this National Day of Prayer and Remembrance, President Bush gave one of the most inspiring speeches in our nation's history. In one of the most stirring moments, President Bush said, 'This nation is peaceful, but fierce when stirred to anger. This conflict was begun on the timing and terms of others; it will end in a way and at an hour of our choosing.'
Later in the day, the President visited the destruction in NYC, first flying over the rubble of the World Trade Center, and then witness the rescue and ruins first hand. In his rallying cry to the hundreds of rescue personnel, President Bush spoke to the workers with a megaphone. In the highlight of his speech in NYC, the President had the following exchange with the crowd:
RESCUER: I can hear you!
PRES. BUSH: I can hear you too! (crowd laughs)... And the world can hear you... (crowd cheers) and the people who knocked down these buildings will be hearing from all of us soon! (crowd erupts with chants of USA! USA! USA!)
Fittingly so, on this National Day of Prayer and Remembrance, the nation and the world can take comfort in knowing that we have a man of passion and principle leading the greatest country in the world.
Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Thanks kayak for this picture of Pres. Bush and his Dad. There is such love and respect between those two men. I saw this when I watched the memorial service yesterday, and I was so touched. It was his Daddy's subtle way of saying "You done good!"

#170 and all the other reasons to say it, thank you, RWP. My arm aches from all the typing and right clicking I've been doing to prepare photos to print for others overseas ... I'll come back and grab that graphic soon. It's a real treasure. Thanks for updating this thread with the 15th's photos. From the look of things, I can tell I am not praying enough for our president. =\

These two were MY particular favorites (but, of course, I LOVE seeing Bill and Hillary Clinton eating their hearts out!)
(Why was Chelsea sitting on the front row? The "other" former presidents have children, too......I'm sick of her always being put in front of other people!)

Thanks for the reports of the candlelight vigils. I don't know if this is something that can be done by many - but around here everyone puts electric candles in their windows at Christmas. Last night, I put a single electric candle in an upstairs window - with a small American flag next to it (not close enough to be a fire hazard). I plan to keep this single electric candle "lit" (plugged in) during this entire time of crisis - war.

My brother, his family and some friends, did a candle light prayer service in Detroit friday. He reported other groups doing the same. I was surprised when my 14 year old niece commented to me that she couldn't tear herself away from the tv......watching news!

When I read posts like yours and know there are teen-agers out there like you, and like my own kids, I am reassured that there is hope for the future of this country. We are surely in good hands with President Bush, because he has placed himself in the hands of his Lord and Saviour. You are wise to have seen it at such a young age!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!
