SPECIAL EDITION
On this National Day of Prayer and Remembrance, President Bush gave one of the most inspiring speeches in our nation's history. In one of the most stirring moments, President Bush said, 'This nation is peaceful, but fierce when stirred to anger. This conflict was begun on the timing and terms of others; it will end in a way and at an hour of our choosing.'
Later in the day, the President visited the destruction in NYC, first flying over the rubble of the World Trade Center, and then witness the rescue and ruins first hand. In his rallying cry to the hundreds of rescue personnel, President Bush spoke to the workers with a megaphone. In the highlight of his speech in NYC, the President had the following exchange with the crowd:
RESCUER: I can hear you!
PRES. BUSH: I can hear you too! (crowd laughs)... And the world can hear you... (crowd cheers) and the people who knocked down these buildings will be hearing from all of us soon! (crowd erupts with chants of USA! USA! USA!)
Fittingly so, on this National Day of Prayer and Remembrance, the nation and the world can take comfort in knowing that we have a man of passion and principle leading the greatest country in the world.
Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

#15 is so personal, and so inspiring.
#1 will probably wind up in history books, in spite of the liberals.
Thank you again, Lord, for our President.

"We get the point already."
Maybe YOU got the point, but check the other threads where UNITY is not in place.
YOUR personal opinion is LESS important than what the nation needs right now.
And do you realize how many NEW members come in daily to Free Republic?
Nothing personal but people back during Viet Nam told me what I should or should not say, when and how often.
No one will EVER do that to me again!

I love the picture of our president comforting Rudy. He has grown by leaps and bounds during the past few days. There is NO doubt that this is THE leader who will lead us out of this terrible darkness.

Every time I've seen the picture in #56 today, I've been struck by
1) the loving and proud looks of the elder Bushs as they watch their son returning to his seat after his moving speech;
2) the woe-begone look on Clinton's face as he too watches the President's return; and
3) the absolutely blank look on Hillary's face as SHE stares straight ahead.
A revealing picture that tells a story, doesn't it?

"And the commitment of our fathers is the calling of our time."This is the best line I've heard in years - it's so true, it's so moving, and it's so utterly RIGHT!
Everytime I turn on the television or the radio, I am two eye-blinks away from tears. A story of heartache or heroism comes on, a patriotic song comes on, or I hear one of our nation's leaders make a statement that speaks to my heart, and I am swallowed by tears, yet again.
I don't think I've ever cried this much in my life.
One Nation, Under God, Indivisable.

Boy, you aren't kidding about that picture in #56! That is probably why X42 was out trying to grab camera attention after the service. I think his look isn't woebegone, though.
It is envy.

Fine, waste the bandwidth. It is after all a free web site. I just get tired of seeing the same, repeated posts on EVERY thread. It is posts like yours and others that helps bring this site to a crawl. I can appreciate your sentiments, but please be a little selective in which threads you decide to repeat that same post.

Great pictures! Here's another one that I don't think has been posted yet. This is touring NY from Marine One.

I saw this morning the tape of yesterday's changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, with the band playing the Star Spangled Banner. I just sobbed! What is happening here is unbelievable!

"Please be nice." I am sorry, I did not mean to ruin an absolutely wonderful thread. I have nothing personal against 68-69TonkinGulfYatchClub, it's just that I find it annoying when people cut and paste the same quote into each and every thread on FR. Some of them are quote long (some even with extensive graphics and/or fonts), and I find it disrupts the refresh rate and the readability of the threads.
Please accept my apologies. It's been a long 4 days of reading threads.

No problem, CatOwner. It has been a long week for all of us. 68-69's intentions are good, as are all who want unity and justice for all Americans. That I know we can agree on...
