Iranian Man in Germany Warned of Attack

- Justice Source

By REUTERS

Filed at 3:23 a.m. ET

BERLIN (Reuters) - An Iranian man in Germany had warned German and U.S. authorities about a global danger less than a week before the terror attacks in the United States, justice ministry sources said on Friday.

The man, who was in custody in the northern city of Hanover awaiting deportation, had insisted on ringing the White House to warn them of the danger.

``The man was allowed to ring the White House, but there, as well as at the CIA, he was not taken seriously,'' an official from the justice ministry of Lower Saxony told Reuters under condition of anonymity.

The official said authorities in Germany believed the Iranian was mentally ill.

The official said the justice ministry was informed of the man and his warnings on Wednesday, the day after hijacked aircraft crashed into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

The Federal Prosecutor's Office said it would issue a report on the matter later in the day.

One newspaper said the man was now being interviewed by German authorities and by the CIA.

The official said there was still doubt, even after the attacks, that the man really knew about the plot.

Germany has become a focal point for investigations into Tuesday's attacks after it emerged three of the suicide hijackers may have belonged to a Hamburg-based extremist group committed to attacking symbolic U.S. targets.

German authorities have to decide on Friday about whether to keep in custody an airport worker as they extend a probe into a German link to the terror attacks.

Reports of a second man being held were denied by the federal prosecutors office on Friday.

A lot of people want to just start bombing countries without concern for which ones, or what the later ramifications will.

Yet most of the same people don't even want the mounting evidence of prior knowledge by our FBI, CIA and government, which appear to have allowed such a co-ordinated attack to occur even though it involved people from or in multiple states and multiple countries.

So far their are suspects in: Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Minnesota, Maine, Texas, New York, Virginia, Arkansas, Oregon and California. And two planes went down areas in Washington, DC and Pennsylvania.

We also have suspects in or from or connections to Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, England, Spain, France, Mexico, Canada, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq and Syria, yet only Afganistan and Pakistan is being threatened with attack.

>> No nukes, but a couple of battalions of Marines/Army/etc, and a couple of squadrons of F-16s/F-18s/etc could go and land in Kabul and plant the American flag, then ask if there are any questions. <<

You betcha, but I don't want to EVER hear any more of that HorseHillary about a "casuality-free push-button war conducted by precision bombing." All bombing has ever done to a civilian population is piss them off enough to make them more determined, and "precision bombing" from 30,000 risk-free feet means hitting close to the right country. If you want to take somebody out,you have to go in and get them. Doing this means you WILL suffer casualities.

Thanks for clearing that up. I apologize for my mistake. I'm getting more than a little "testy" myself. I was just called a coward on another thread by a closet commando who wants to incinerate everybody in the mideast with nukes. Of course, being the brave man that he is,somebody else will be doing this for him while he sits at home drinking beer and watching it on tv.

If you're talking about me, nowhere have I advocated using nukes against any nation. I said we can't worry about collateral damage. I brought up the example of WW2 when a lot of collateral damage was done in Japan in 4 cities (not just Hiroshima and Nagasaki). Part of collateral damage is making people homeless. That has a way of changing perspective.

I no longer know WHO I was writing about. I have been called so many names by so many people the last couple of days that I have totally lost track. I've even been called a traitor at least twice.
