These are my thoughts on our current situation. To quote a rather odd wise man, “We need to get our heads right.”
Asymmetrical war… get used to it, unless you want civilian casualties... and I honestly believe that a strong, patient, and wise President Bush will want to minimize those, as much as we cry for blood.
What does asymmetrical war mean? Well, it truly does mean that we Americans must get ready for a war where our casualties will always be greater than our enemy. We must prepare for small groups of treacherous scum to target ONLY civilians. We must suffer this while our military tries to be everywhere at once to protect us, and they will only target the enemy’s fighters… not their families… (yet). We must be strong enough to carry on own lives and economy, even while we are scared with empty threats… and some not so empty, to keep teeth attached to every scare. They will not use missiles. They will use fear, psychology, and pain to do their fighting. They will not fight ‘fair.’ They will think of things we’re unprepared for, simply because we’ve never seen this kind of 21st Century warfare before now.
They have many advantages. Already, we think their part of the war is over, and all that remains is our retribution. War doesn’t work that way. They are going to come at us again. If they attack again tomorrow, when we are on highest alert, we will feel helpless. If they wait six weeks to attack again, when we are complacent again, we will learn to be afraid of feeling at ease. If they wait a year before the serpent strikes again, then we will know that we are in for a decades long, protracted, and generational war, much like the Israelis have been fighting, and Serbia has yet to escape after 600 years.

It’s not going to be pretty, and we are not prepared. Prepare your heart for what is to come.
Here’s an excerpt from an article written by one of my all-time favorite authors, Orson Scott Card.
He wrote, “As a direct response to the attack of 11 September, the United States and Israel should jointly undertake the immediate and complete occupation of all Palestinian territory, the arrest and imprisonment of all Palestinian leaders to await trial after a thorough investigation of their role in the acts of war that have already taken place against Israel, and the permanent incorporation of all Palestinian territory into the state of Israel. No Palestinian self-government should be allowed at any level, and Palestinian territory should be under martial law.
“At the same time, the United States should announce that any nation that harbors or funds the activities of any of the active anti-American groups, including but not limited to bin-Laden's, will be considered to be in one of two conditions: Either they are unable to govern their own territory, in which case we will send troops to govern their uncontrolled territory for them; or they are in support of these activities, in which case we will regard ourselves as being in a state of war with them.
“Then we must act, as quickly as possible, accordingly. No more of the childish, dangerous, and cowardly kinds of responses that typified Bill Clinton's disastrous presidency. No more bombings from high altitudes. No more withholding of our troops for fear of casualties. ”
We must send the message that any action against us will result in some really unpleasant ‘Unintended Consequences’. Adding DC as the 51st state and Syria (or even Israel!) as the 52nd would send some really huge shivers down the spines of every militant Muslim in the world. *devilish grin* Maybe I'm kidding... I'm not sure yet. I do know that we should, very early in this war, annex a few oil fields so that ANWR can be protected.
Men, take a moment and think about the women in our lives. The softer, fairer, more patient and forgiving gender, so wonderful to behold.
Ladies, while the men are off in a soft daydream of security and love, I must address you directly, and shockingly. Do not discourage from their war-cries. You must be aware of who the enemy is, and what it is about America that they despise.
They think we are ‘the Great Satan’, for our softness towards women. Allowing “their” women’s ankles to show in public without a beating is simply too sinful for them to tolerate. Clothing catalogs are pornographic. Women cannot be allowed in public without a male family member as an escort. Men must not suffer the voice of a female stranger in public, including a woman’s laughter on the street.
THIS is what they want to change about America. THIS is what they will push us towards if we do not respond harshly. THIS kind of tyrrany in your own home is what we aid when we try to placate ourselves, and soothe the bloodlust in our warriors’ hearts.
Do not help the enemy to suppress women just ecause you are so justifiably afraid of what is to come. Support him in his rage. He needs that, very badly.
(A quick thought… I wonder how the Muslims in prison are doing… especially the ones in the jails where their numbers are not large, and they are not organized, unlike the HBO series “Oz.” Why are Palestinians celebrating in America not being met with the same cruelty and venom we usually shower upon each other on a daily basis?)
Now, most importantly, especially for us Freepers, we must be ever-mindful of our nation’s past, and its future. Our loud cries against American tyrrany will now cease, of course, as we stand behind our nation in its hour of need. We will accept and shoulder all sorts of violations of our sweet Liberty, to aid in our security during the troubled times to come. However, we must be ever-mindful of what our greatest desires were, way, way back on September 10th. We must not let the acts of terrorists forever doom our nation to permanent police-state. We ought to make SURE that, in defense of our nation, and in response to these diabolical actions, our primary goal is to secure our blessings, punish the wicked, terrify any potential future enemies into eternal inaction, forever change the face of the earth to increase our security, and increase our Freedom. In this war, the teetering balance of security vs. Freedom does not exist. We SHALL have BOTH!
(The students are taking their standardized tests today, and I have a quiet keyboard.)
Whatever cause you may think the terrorists were supporting, their horrific actions were cowardly, self-defeating and wrong. You may despise America for helping create a home for the Jewish peoples after World War II. You may spew hatred at Lady Liberty for aiding in Israel's very survival since they surrounded by more than a dozen dictatorial blood-enemies who want a second Holocaust more than peace. However, if you had wanted the world to think your actions are righteous, and you wanted to take America to task for such military aid, you would have attacked our military. (If you want to prove you have brass balls the size of your fists, you attack our Marines.) If you have taken offense at our military industry legally selling arms to Israel that get used by Israel against your brethren, you might have even attacked our factories as legitimate military targets.
But your terrorists did none of these things.
The gutless worms you champion went for the most helpless and innocent victims they could find, to show their evil nature to the world. They were so impotent that they could not even use their own weaponry, so they had to use our passenger liners as guided missiles. They were so inept that they used box-cutters to try to control crowds of American passengers, and because of it, missed half of their intended targets. They attacked simple working people like myself. They callously targeted civilian men, women, and children, knowing there were nurseries in the towers, and infants on those planes. They erroneously thought that the American psychology would allow us to shrink from a fight. In reality, the typical American response to ANY attempt to exert control over our actions is to do the exact opposite, simply out of spite. (Every child we raise has this basic tenet of Freedom firmly ingrained before they even become teenagers.) Your foolish madmen gave their lives in a cause that their religious leaders, their Koran, and families think will buy them a place in Heaven... and I hope they are realizing that The Almighty, by whatever name you choose to call Him, is a Moral and Just Being who does not take craven murderers to His Great Kingdom. They have a very different home from now on and into Eternity.
The world, and especially the Middle East, should be humbled and VERY thankful that a very careful and measured man occupies the White House now, or our response may have been very different. Our last President sent showers of Tomahawk cruise missiles into Eastern Europe to support foreign strangers thousands of miles away and, many think, to simply cover his personal dalliances. A President Gore would very likely have jumped at the chance to gain the favor of a very hawkish Republican opposition, garnering huge popular support and a secure place in history with an obscenely large-scale act of justifiable vengeance.
President Bush has been a model of restraint for us in this hour, despite MANY Americans thirsting for large amounts of blood. Most circles are screaming for responses of "Biblical" proportions, "an eye for an eye", "10,000 of ours means 10,000,000 of theirs", and a very strong desire to demonstrate EXACTLY how powerful we truly are (carpet-bombing B-52's, stealthy aircraft, special forces, and even nuclear missiles backed by our psychological need to win convincingly at everything). This is a normal reaction for a nation that has just been shown how our greatest treasure, our precious Freedom, can leave us utterly defenseless and vulnerable. It is the great fortune, and probable Divine Intervention, that this President and the White House were spared. Virtually anyone else, myself included, would not have had the emotional maturity or the strength of will to respond without hatred, vengeance, or desperation.
America's Beauty still shines for the world to behold. Guided by this incredibly strong President, 'we the people' will demonstrate yet again that our greatness lies in our strong preference for Justice and our intense desire to be Free. Those who train, equip, and harbor monsters who would commit such actions as the atrocity experienced this Black Tuesday will find themselves as the sole epicenter of our very focused wrath. The peoples of the world, even the ones who celebrate as we mourn our dead, can rest easy knowing that our Righteousness will prohibit us from venting our horrible rage towards the weak and the powerless, even as our beloved friends, family, and countrymen are being excavated from the rubble of our Peaceful slumber. They should not even be surprised to find that the next time their nation is in great need, and is facing unimaginable pain and loss, it will be a generous and faithful America who is first on the scene to give aid, comfort, compassion, and relief.
This is the greatness of America. This is why we are so overwhelmingly proud and confident. This is why we will always prevail.
That is also why you ought not celebrate the injury of our innocents. It is why you should mourn your own soul for allowing such a wicked heart to keep beating.
What to do?
Relieve the existing governments, by any means necessary, and replace them with pecsons that want to live in a civilized society. This means a gigantic committment of the blood and treasure of the United States and other countries. We must be willing to do this indefinitely.
What about individual "terrorists"?
Individual terrorists and any person or organization which supported them should be hunted down and summarily shot. But it shouldn't stop there. The terrorists may believe that other persons will "take care of their family" because of their acts. Each member of the immediate family of a terrorist should also be shot. These persons are lower than wolves. They must be removed from the face of the Earth.
Now is the time to strike. Plan well.
Preservation of liberty might be enhanced by a revival of a classic or constitutional militia. But that militia depends on perceived need for home guard services. Militia tends to contract in numbers when not needed and the 20th Century is closing without a Militia in being in most places. For other factors not mentioned, the war powers are of Congress and civilian supremacy is firmly embedded in our culture, while the two year Constitutional limit on Army appropriation is not apparently observed. And, an armed public would be hard to subdue. Regardless, the wisdom of our forefathers was to view such an Army as we now have as inherently dangerous to liberty. That danger is the tyranny which could result when the peacetime Army turns inward and operates as a police force. The Army has the power to suppress the citizens.

To win, we must fight from strength. The response must be quick, overwhelming, devastating.
We must play the nuclear card. And we must target civilian population centers. Only then will a balance of terror stop a repeat engagement of the World Trade Center.
Harsh? Yes. Brutal? Certainly. But as Patton said, one does not win a war by dying for one's country. One wins by making the other poor fellow die for his.
And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom?

Well, boys, I reckon this is it -- nuclear combat toe to toe with the Roosskies. Now look, boys, I ain't much of a hand at makin' speeches, but I got a pretty fair idea that something doggone important is goin' on back there. And I got a fair idea the kinda personal emotions that some of you fellas may be thinkin'. Heck, I reckon you wouldn't even be human bein's if you didn't have some pretty strong personal feelin's about nuclear combat. I want you to remember one thing, the folks back home is a-countin' on you and by golly, we ain't about to let 'em down. I tell you something else, if this thing turns out to be half as important as I figure it just might be, I'd say that you're all in line for some important promotions and personal citations when this thing's over with. That goes for ever' last one of you regardless of your race, color or your creed. Now let's get this thing on the hump -- we got some flyin' to do.

We are now shifting from peacetime rules to wartime rules, and the battlefield is HERE. So please spare me everyone your bleatings about the poor arab moslems' civil liberties, this is WAR.
Many of them are not even citizens, but have merely snuck into our free and open society, and bear us only hatred. The fine and loyal arab moslems Americans must now help to ROOT THEM OUT.
Am I being unfair? I don't think so: this is now WAR on "Battlefield USA". We must fight to win.
Let me point out to any who have missed these facts:
/1/ Before the first WTC bombing, mosques and "cultural centers" in NYC were used as safehouses, agent meeting places, and dead drops. This is a fact, look it up. Prior to this state of war, our FBI was hamstrung by the ACLU and CAIR etc and were unable to properly monitor these nests of vipers in NYC, and we saw the (thank God it did not fully succeed) results. Now we are moving to WARTIME rules of engagement, and mosques and "cultural centers" must not be permitted to give unquestioned sanctuary to terrorists and their support agents. Good loyal patriotic arab moslem Americans can and must root them out swiftly. If they fail to do this, their loyalties must be suspected. Too bad, it's WAR.
/2/ After the 9-11 outrage, some, not many, arab moslem ILLEGAL ALIENS have been seen celebrating, several have been arrested by the FBI. Some were across the Hudson with video cameras on tripods, ready to record the evil deeds, then cheering when the buildings were struck. There was obviously advance notice among SOME arab moslems inside of the USA, none of them with advance knowledge tipped off the attack to the authorities.
It is now time for all good loyal patriotic arab moslem Americans to do their duty, and report their suspicions or knowledge to the FBI, so that they may begin investigating possible terrorists or terrorist support agents ASAP. If they fail to do this DUTY, then shame on them, and do not expect to win sympathy with crocodile tears later on.
I ask all to use Joshua 24:7-15 as a reference, "...choose ye this day..." not tomorrow!
