"The men voted to attack the terrorists," That statement's one of the most poignant silver-linings in this entire horrible tragedy so far. The men voted to attack the terrorists. Those men are heroes.

Heroes who did not look to politicians for guidance. They did what had to be done for their country. Selfless, brave, wise, remarkable. The defense of our country started on that flight. We need not be afraid when we stand together. Hollywood better not screw up this story...

The heroism by those men - willing to act to defend others irrespective of their inevitable deaths - is the stuff this nation is built on. God has rewarded them in heaven, and their names will live in history forever. We can never forget them.
These men, like those firefighters and police who entered the WTC only to have it collapse on them, are of a continuing line. They are heirs of the heroes who won our independence, and those who have protected us ever since.

"I am in love; and my sweetheart is Liberty. I walk the soil that gave me birth, and exult in the thought that I am not unworthy of it. And when I look forward to the long ages of posterity, I glory in the thought that I am fighting their battles. The children of distant generations may never hear my name; but still it gladdens my heart to think that I am now contending for their freedom, and all its countless blessings." --Francis Marion, The Swamp Fox

Unfortunately, no mailing address is listed, so we don't know where to send cards and letters to Deena, the widow, expressing our feelings regarding her husband and others on that flight being heroes.

These men are my brothers in arms.
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; - King Henry V, Shakespeare
God bless these patriots of liberty!

Well, they deserve some sort of memorial if they can't receive medals. Heros...we have needed heros badly for a long time. Here they are, folks!

The only satisfaction I have thus far is that the hijackers did not go straight to Heaven, as they thought, but rather they are now in Hell, gnashing their teeth in agony! Allah be praised!

Can you imagine if there had been four initially inexplicable crashes of planes because the passengers on board all of them refused to be orderly and cooperative with terrorists?

``To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his gods,
``And for the tender mother
Who dandled him to rest,
And for the wife who nurses
His baby at her breast,
And for the holy maidens
Who feed the eternal flame,
To save them from false Sextus
That wrought the deed of shame?
``Haul down the bridge, Sir Consul,
With all the speed ye may;
I, with two more to help me,
Will hold the foe in play.
In yon strait path a thousand
May well be stopped by three.
Now who will stand on either hand,
And keep the bridge with me?'' Horatius by Thomas Babbington Macaulay
(Search out the entire poem. It will bring tears to your eyes in much the same way the heroic actions of those men in that doomed plane over Pennsylvania brought tears to mine. May God rest their souls!)

God bless America. Maybe all is not lost when a group of men still have the courage to do what they apparently did! May God bless their loved ones!

These chicken $shit SOB's killed many children! Vengance!
As far as some people that are comfortable with "second guessing" others that have lost their lives? I'd say "I guess you had to be there". Be thankful you were not.

Thank God for these heroes.

40-50 years ago, the same thing would have happened on all of the planes. It is refreshing to know that there are some selfless, freedom-loving cititzens left.
This has become a sensitive, counseling-addicted Nation of spineless wimps. Just look at the TV coverage of this disaster.
A Nation that produces sailors who are more interested in their own safety than in protecting the secrets of one of our most important aircraft. Even though their act of abject cowardice put at risk millions of Americans on the west coast.
Nope! Prior to the 1970's, none of the other three aircraft would have reached their targets either.

These men deserve the highest civilian honor that can be bestowed, and in a solemn offical ceremony. Because of their bravery and sacrifice all that evidence was found that has led to finding their murderers.

That took some serious balls, knowing it is over, but on who's dime - your, or theirs. I'll pick mine anytime. These guys did right, they are heroes. God bless them all in giving the ultimate sacrifice.

Since becoming aware of the details that led to the horrible events over the last two days - I wondered, how could all those passengers not rushed these slimeballs who were armed only with box cutters? Then I realized that most of these passengers probably just thought it was another standard hijacking - that once the hijackers were flown to wherever they wanted to go, the passengers would be released. It has happened so many times. Why risk your neck, and possibly the lives of all on board? How could anyone imagine, in their wildest nightmares, what these demon-possessed Arabs had in mind?
The horror.

Thank God, these Americans attended schools where appeasement and hatred of America and the Republican party were not taught, as it is in public schools today. Will America have any heros twenty years from now, after today's educational establishment finish with their liberal indoctrination of our children? Doubtful.
