I put 2+2 together from the following links. It's my doing, but I think it has credibility:

Among those who were to wing to L.A. for the awards were the cast of ``Sex and the City (news - Y! TV),'' including nominees Sarah Jessica Parker and
Kim Cattrall, and ``Sopranos'' members Lorraine Bracco, Edie Falco and James Gandolfini. Plus ``Saturday Night Live (news - Y! TV)'s'' Darrell Hammond
and Will Ferrell. Andy Garcia, who is filming in N.Y., was to fly out to present an award. Jon Stewart from ``The Daily Show'' and the cast of ``Everybody
Loves Raymond (news - Y! TV)'' (who were in N.Y. this week doing a press tour) were due to fly here to be on hand at the Emmys.

His death would not be any more important, but I thought if it's true it's worth noting.
I posted this earlier on the temporary boards...

Gee. Someone who has the same name as a famous pretender was murdered yesterday, and this is noteworthy? Sheesh. Human respect is a sin against justice, because all people have equal worth and value in the eyes of God. To allocate more respect to one because he is rich, or powerful, or wealthy, or famous, or handsome, or talented, or connected is a grave injustice. All that is necessary in life is one thing: grace. The ugliest, poorest, most unknown, and most artless person in the whole world may be the most successful, indeed, if he has grace.

I doubt it....The "prominent" types are always singled-out almost immediately.

I would imagine that the press would have slobbered all over this one if it were true.

Among the many articles I read today, one mentioned this person; according to that article, it is not that Andy Garcia. I believe this Andrew Garcia was a business executive (the company was identified in the article).

Doubt that it was Andy Garcia. The press made a to-do over the death of Berry Berenson, who was famous for being Marisa Berenson's sister (and Marisa Berenson hasn't been "famous" for 25 years), and Tony Perkins's wife (and he's been dead for almost 10 years). Andy Garcia would have gotten as big headlines as our beloved Barbara Olson.

The only confirmed Hollywood death I've heard about is the creator (?) of the TV show Frazier - was flying back to LA after vacationing in Cape Cod I think. Sorry I don't have his name but I pray for him and his family along with all others injured or passed on.

Yes, you're right, I didn't include requisite 'class warfare' in my post.
Famous or not, I was merely pointing out, with my juxtaposition, that the 'slobbering media' might have missed something.
Get off yer horse, dude...

She may have been flying west, but the other day Cattrell and the redhead from Sex........ were in LA at a fashion show. Don't know their itineraries afterwards.

... that the 'slobbering media' might have missed something. Rest assured that if the media hadn't printed a picture of Andrew Garcia, he was a mere statistic in their eyes. They have a very sensitive nose for fame.

The creator of "Frazier" was on the plane. This is the first I'd heard the Berry Berenson was on the plane. That brings back memories of old People magazines. I hope she's at peace now, since she'd been through a lot.
Also, Hollywood is delaying the release of a lot of explosion-oriented releases. Maybe they'd be better off just throwing them away.
