Has anyone seen or heard from the Vice President since the terrorist attacks began?

He's been in the War Room, doing what he did so well in Desert Storm.

Hiding out in case someone kills George Bush. There may be more to this than what the govt. is letting on.

I heard on C-SPAN Tuesday morning that Cheney was going to make a statement, shortly after Dubya made his statement in Florida announcing the attacks on the World Trade Center. And then suddenly C-SPAN announced that Cheney's statement was canceled.

Wasn't he sitting next to Bush today when he gave his speech at 10:45 a.m. today?

It was said that he was going to leave the White House when Bush arrived yesterday. I don't like the idea of them both being close by each other.

He probably had a heart attack.

He might be dead, or he might just be wounded. I hope he is only wounded, and that they are stalling to give him time to recover before showing him to the nation.

I was wondering the same thing, but the media has decided not to ask, so I thought it would be improper to post on FR. Bush wants Cheney's status kept quiet for a reason, we should honor that, at least for two days.

I personally hope he's hunkered down somewhere with our military leadership finalizing the details of a strike or full blown invasion and capture of Bin Ladin.

If that is the case there may be no heart attack, or he might have already recovered enough to show himself a little, but not to speak.

Heart attack? HEART ATTACK? HEART ATTACK?

Give me a break. You, sir, are basically calling my President a liar, implying that he would hide the truth from the American people at a time like this.

Bite me.

Are you sure this is a picture of the Vice-President taken today?

President George W. Bush, flanked by Secretary of State Colin Powell (L) and Vice President Dick Cheney, holds a meeting with his national security team in the Cabinet Room of the White House, September 12, 2001. Bush called the terror attacks in New York and Washington 'acts of war' and vowed America would prevail as he asked Congress for emergency authority to spend whatever it takes to recover from the worst attack on U.S. soil.

As Rintease, suggested go to her Day in the Life Thread. There is a picture of him sitting next to W at the Security Council Meeting. He, too, looked as if he had been crying. In fact, his picture brought tears to my eyes. He is clearly heartbroken.

Idiot. He was in the cabinet meeting with everyone else today. Hmmmm, perhaps they were running all of his lines to the medical equipment underneath the table. Gasp! Maybe it was a stand-in.
