Give Peace A Chance
About 100 anti-war demonstrators gathered in downtown Seattle Tuesday evening, saying they hope that the United States doesn't retaliate indiscriminately over terrorist attacks on the East Coast.
Members from groups such as the Western Washington Fellowship of Conciliation are carrying signs with slogans such as "No war," "Have no enemies, find common ground," and "No U.S. massacres in Afghanistan."
One of the demonstrators, Seattle resident Tim Nelson, says that he is worried that people will jump to conclusions and vilify Muslims without even knowing whether Muslim extremists were responsible for the attacks.
In Dearborn, Mich., just such an occurrence may have taken place. Two men were arrested for allegedly assaulting an Arab-American man in Dearborn Tuesday, where the Middle Eastern population is once again having to defend itself in the wake of a terrorist act.
Dearborn, a suburb of Detroit, has a large concentration of Arabs and is the core of the region's Arab-American community of about 300,000. Mayor Michael Guido told WDIV-TV in Detroit that the city has doubled police patrols, and that residents have remained calm.
Arab-Americans paint a slightly different picture.
One man was reportedly assaulted Tuesday, after a confrontation with two men, WDIV-reported. Racial tensions may have played a role in the attack. Some Arab-American business owners also reported receiving telephone threats.
Ford Motor Co., headquartered in Dearborn, let workers go home shortly after the attack. The automaker said that it will close all of its plants nationwide and in Canada after the second shift.
The Arab-American Community Center, a Dearborn-based civic and political group released a statement denouncing the attacks and pledging their community's support.
"We are in the midst of a national nightmare of unimaginable proportions. Arab Americans like all Americans are transfixed by this tragedy. We have family and friends who worked in the World Trade Center and for the federal government. We mourn for those who lost their lives and those who were injured," center officials said.
This lack of loyalty and patriotism to our country appears to either more widespread than I thought or just dignified by the attention of the media.

I too hope that we don't retaliate indiscriminately. We don't need innocent blood on our hands. That is why we should only contract with Israel for the termination of those Palestinians who were celebrating. That is why we should only bomb those governments whose state run news outlets spoke in support of the terrorists. That is why we should identify specifically which organizations were responsible for the planning and execution of the hijacking and then exterminate them along with the governments of any country that aided, abetted or supported them. I do not want to indiscriminately bomb ignorant villagers in mud huts who don't have any knowledge of what was done.

We should immediately round these folks up and transport them for a parachute drop into Afghanistan with their placards and slogans.

I am struggling to prevent myself from villifying all people who live as muslims. However, I have absolutely zero doubt that this was an attack by muslim jihadists. I hold the arab culture and the muslim religion accountable for their role in creating people who would perpetrate these acts of atrocity, though specific individuals must be judged individually and not punished for the acts of others that they do not condone or support.

Isn't it ironic that only last year Hillary and Bill made the really, really strong message about terrorism in America? They pardoned the Puerto Rican terrorists who tried to kill Truman and shot up the capitol and police. The family victims pleaded not to pardon, but votes are votes. How many of the sad faces we see today in New York thought that message was A-OK?
You don't have to hate, kill, nuke those who don't wish us well. We can simply elect people who take our security seriously and who don't trivialize terrorism by pardoning criminals in return for vote. New Yorkers: look in the mirror if you want to hate.

This barely warrented rebuttal, but I gave him one:

The "attacks" seem to consist of a few comments and a claim that "pebbles" were thrown.
