About 5:50 am Pacific, ABC's Ted Koppel was being interviewed. He was in London. It was mentioned that before Koppel became famous for Nightline, he served as a correspondent covering the U.S. State Department. Koppel said he had been watching the ABC coverage this morning for a "couple of hours" and that he was "stunned" when he saw the interview early this morning of former Secretary of Defense, William Cohen, and Cohen mentioned the use of nuclear weapons among the list of possible responses to yesterday's terrorist attack. Koppel said it was the first time he ever recalls any high level person mentioning nuclear weapons as even a possibility.
Nukes are the VERY LARGEST sledge hammer we have! Maybe a bit extreme I agree but I won't rule it out.
God bless America and the British for their display today of support. They tearfully seemed sincere and helped to restore my faith in the world. People respect our flag and Americans as well.I hope Hillary, Koppel and Jennings don't choke on this message.I am so proud!

As my initial sharp anger has morphed into a slow rolling anger, my thoughts have turned to the ultimate weapon. I think it's time to take them out permanently. Let them suffer the way we have suffered.

It will, of course, have to be backed up by the threat of credible force, but then the law always implies the existence of a gun behind the judges robes.

Draft the ACLU legal team who argued before the Supreme Court the other day to prohibit schools from having moments of silence and force them march in front of the land forces invading Bin Laden's stronghold. He'll realize then that resistance is futile.
I personally wouldn't mind if it was broadcast live on Fox during prime time. Just post schedule 15 minutes ahead so I could get the vcr rolling. Best shots would be with morning or evening sun for better contrast and long shadows-9am local morning blast probably would put it in US prime time.
There's nothing wrong with wanting things to be even. It doesn't make us equally evil to want that. Killing Innocent people may not be the answer in anyone's mind, however, that's the only thing that these terrorists understand. Unfortunately that's the only way to get things straight with them. They are not a reasonable or rational people. I've tried to explain that point to you. Apparently you're unwilling to understand that fact. It's too bad. I'd love for you to go over there and negotiate a truce. See how far that gets you. To them, mercy, compromise, compassion equal weakness. They are like a petulant child in need of a severe spanking.
Terrorists only understand one thing, terror. Liberals only understand one thing, the communist manifesto, and happy joy-joy thoughts. Liberals also understand that this country is too powerful, and want it to be as high tech as Mexico. Liberals also whine and cry that taxes aren't high enough, and they firmly believe in socialist progress. That doesn't necessarily make them right now does it?
Rounding up all of these people is something we agree on. However, the only way to make certain this doesn't happen to our country again, is to make an example out of whatever country that is harboring them. That example should be harsher, and more severe than what was struck against us. The consequences should always out-weigh the gain of the crime. Of course, you'd settle for just one of these people. That is the kind of thinking that got us this mess in the first place.
Also, Don't twist my words to suit your needs. You know nothing about me, or the terrorists involved. The only thing I am confused about is where to send the missiles. I'd also lay money you've never served in the military a day in your life. If you haven't, then you have nothing to say to me about fighting a war for an ideology. The reason why, is you've been unwilling to fight for anything like that, and are trying to convert others to your thought processes.
Am I speaking from rage? No, outrage. I am outraged that anyone would do such a thing. I think you should be outraged too. I'm sure you are on some level. All the hate in the world isn't going to make this go away. We've seen what hate can do. It can make a bunch of people hop on planes, and then crash them into innocent people. The key word here is Innocent. Just like the people we're going to kill anyway in whatever country we decide to destroy for this act.
So the next time you try to make me look like an evil animal, or vilify me because I'm speaking what everyone else but you seem to be feeling, think about how weak you would be perceived if you were over in Afghanistan. Then think about how much your words would mean when they found out you're a christian. Then think about how you're going to feel when you find out what they do to Christians over there. Then realize that for some people, the only way to get to them, is by showing them why they shouldn't do the things they do.

Actually, you are in error. We possess nuclear weapons of varying degrees of power. Some are what are known as Tactical Nuclear Weapons, as opposed to the Strategic Weapons in our arsenal.
We have the means to deliver these weapons with great precision.

Why not drop your beloved nuclear weapon on a small town of say, 5000 Swiss people? It would make the same amount of sense. While we are at it, why not execute the families of murderers who are at large?

You are mistaken if you think that these morons care about innocent life at all. The people in the countries where they operate or the people here. To say the least. But that is a recent development. Just a few posts ago you knew exactly where to send them. First indiscriminately on unnamed Arab countries and then when called on that you changed to a well selected rural town of about 5000 or so of the innocents who live there.

I am and I am willing to advocate the harshest possible consequences on the guilty parties. But not on the innocent.

One little aside, Based on what I have seen and heard in the last few days here, I am more convinced than ever that we are totally screwed as a nation. If there was only two places to go, liberal land and coservative land, I would be a man without a country. Thank God that most of the people in this country belong to neither camp.
