I awoke this morning and was watching the tv and began to notice that the general atmosphere is not like a country going to war but a community which has just survived a tornado or hurricane. The belief is that the storm is over and it is time to pick up the pieces and start over. Guess again.
During my tenure at the CDC's Emergency Response Coordinating Group I was privy to a study of terrorist attack. So many scenarios included biologics. If they were released yesterday, the effects would begin to be noticed tomorrow. A pick-up truck driving down the road with a aerosal canister in the back is all that is required. We could be replete with suitcase bombs ready to trigger at anytime of with a call from a cell phone. The posiibilities are endless. And of course, their are always the nuclear/biological threats to Israel at the "two" of a one - two punch.
A burning cinder formerly known as "Kabul." would be a start.
We need to get used to the idea that we are going to suffer more civilian casualties in this war.
That's one reason we have to start killing the bastards.
But you're right, biological warfare could be Phase II. Which is why we have to say the HELL with world opinion. Take out EVERYTHING and ANYTHING related to Osama Bin Laden and all other terrorist groups that have even hinted at hostility to the United States. DO IT NOW!
IF that's correct 'thinking', wouldn't that mean things like, car/truck bombs, school terrorism, water supplies/bio weapons?
If these animals have Plan B ready, and it's as well-executed as yesterday's, it makes sense that they would have it set for places that do not have a CCW on the books. Americans are POed and reeling after yesterday's events. I don't think a suspicious acting foreigner would last very long in a CCW area.

My thoughts exactly. How many tons of fertilizer are being bought by some clown that wants to make the headlines? We can't put our heads in the sand, but we have to take an active role. It seems in our community like nothng had happened out of the ordinary. Just a bief bump in the road. People don't realize what the toll will be. We need to get serious about this and quit worrying that the stock market will be closed.

Terrorism is one target, carefully selected, in order to gain attention. Any of the 4 hijacked planes, alone, could qualify as an act of terrorism. The attention that this group (I'm looking at you, Taliban) was searching for could have been accomplished with one plane to the WTC, or the Pentagon, or Camp David.
I have this feeling that this is just a start of a war that has been planned for a long time. That we will see a "phase II" that may be a series of car bombs and/or human bombs and it seems to be inevitable to me. I don't even want to fathom a 'phase III'.
I don't mean to be so cryptic, but I can't shake the feeling that this is just the beginning of something that could be incredibly ugly with many casualities. That this group, is counting on us to focus our attention on the airliners, so they can target us at what they beleive is another weakness (our sheer number of autos that move freely about in this country ) and to cause more death.
I hate to sound so reactionary, but I am finding myself in the mindset of the necessity of a Middle East that is fully occupies by US troops and troublesome regimes being forcibly removed. "
Retaliation is expected, but it is also assumed that it will be a few days before it comes. Criminals don't ignore open windows...
We don't know what, if anything, was prevented by the FAA ordering flights to land immediately yesterday. We don't know if the flight Mrs. Olsen was on was intended for the Pentagon or meant for the White House as suggested by FoxNews. It's unclear what the Pitts. plane was meant for Camp David, the Pentagon--what?
I fear that this isn't the last act in this round. Real psychological terrorism would require a 'rest' before more efforts. It's a bit like, as was pointed out on FoxNews, they waited until the rescue crews were at the WTC before the 2nd plane hit. Apparently this is common in terrorist attacks in Israel, Ireland and so on.
