I understand what you are saying but it's also the definition "always locked" that has to be changed. The cockpit should be secure from the passengers. No one should have access and that was the failure here. I was watching a silly program called "Dead Last" and unbelievably they had the same scenario. There was a problem in the passenger compartment and a pilot came out to see what the problem was. If the pilots need their own washroom facilities, so be it.
"Always locked" should mean just that.

So you are saying that in order to buy peace we should throw Israel to the wolves. That would at best just rent peace for awhile. When we run out of sheep then it is our turn. I'm not prepared to de-humanize our attackers by calling them pond scum. Chances are, they love their children just like we do. They can do this again and again and again, just like we can. The last thing we need is for this to spiral even further out of control. Let's THINK BEFORE WE ACT.

You wept for the saving of a building--but not the massive loss of life? Get your priorities in order, buddy.

Look, 'buddy', the thousands of lives lost are horrifying, but I didn't know any of those people. I'm sure many of the firefighters and cops acted heroically, but that's their job in these situations, isn't it?

This struck me especially, not because some building was saved, but because of the unsolicited and virtually anonymous sacrifice involved. There's no telling how many lives were preserved at whatever the target was.

Because the next time, perhaps next month, or next year, or five years from now or ten years from now, New York and other cities will be completely destroyed by nuclear explosions.

As I said yesterday to one of the idiots that wondered why the passengers on the other planes didn't fight back. This had never happened before. Before yesterday, the best way to deal with hijackers, statistically, was to cooperate. Once the passengers on the 4th plane found out their fate, via cell phone no doubt, they fought back as any of us would, and most likely gave their lives to save others. Those of you who critisized yesterday, and you know who you are, should be ashamed and ask God to forgive you now.

Yes Shooter, you are right. However, the Flight Attendant's are mandated to go into the cockpit once every half hour. They check on the well-being of the pilots--bring them coffee, food etc. This is especially essential on long flights. I think after this horror a lot of changes will be, must be made.

In the wee hours of morning the British TV reported that in their morning show, as well as the incident where Barbara Olson was ordered to call her husband back and tell him that they were going to die. Her last words were, "What should I do? What should I tell them and then they crashed."

We do have to bear in mind the adage that 'the first casualty of war is the truth,' and I will add that this is true and necessary. So, the stories will come out, but in dribs and drabs.
