QUESTION: WHT DID TWO VIRTUALLY EMPTY AIRLINERS LEAVE BOSTON VIRTUALLY TOGETHER?

Three Airliners left Logan airport departed for LAX within 20 minutes. AA flight 11 @ 7:45 with 92 Passengers. United 175 @ 8:00 with 62 passengers. the third flight, by Delta also @ 8:00, passengers unknown. Total seating capacity, 700+.

WHY? Airlines compete, but they also cooperate.

BTW, arrival times were within 15 mins. at LAX.

Answers anyone?
