Please, keep your cool, and watch what you say. Blanket indictments of an entire religion, broad, sweeping condemnation even for the innocent, will simply help the enemies of FR write us all off as a bunch of racists.
Yes, I know they'll say that anyway. But do you want them to actually be able to back it up, with quotes taken in context?
I mean, come on. Posts calling for "the destruction of Islam", and declaring war on "all Moslems", and taking quotes of the Koran out of context (without noting that the quotes are imperfect translations of its native Arabic text) are a bit over the top.
Criticism of faults in the Middle Eastern culture and government that allowed these atrocities to happen is fair game. Condemnation of those guilty, is beyond fair game, it is a must. But, remember, everyone is innocent until proven otherwise, beyond a reasonable doubt. It we hold that concept sacred to judge people within our own country, it should extend beyond.

It's interesting the way times have changed. When we fought the Nazis in WWII no one cared about what race they were, we just knew we had to destroy them. We did go after their leaders, but many others did have to die. I think the Islamic Jihad are like the Nazis very much, they also hate the Jews and they like Hitler wanted to kill all Jews. If there are good Islamics, there were good Germans. But it was hard to tell the difference, maybe not all the German soldiers were Nazis but they had to die for fighting on the wrong side.
As to racism, Islam is not a race. Indeed, Islam has used violence to convert nations and tribes of every race, as different as the Sudanese and the Albanians. Indeed, a unifying factor amongst these disparate peoples is the violence they bring to their unconverted neighbors.
I am not speaking of some medieval episode. It is happening now in Kosovo, in Macedonia, in the Phillipines, in East Timor in Indonesia, and most clearly of all, in The Sudan. As I type, Muslims are killing, starving, torturing and enslaving Christians in the southern regions of The Sudan. Elsewhere in the world of Islam, aid workers and missionaries are imprisoned.
Where, oh where is the voice of "moderate Islam," to condemn these unspeakable atrocities? Where is the voice that could have called the authorities about these terrorists in their American Muslim midst? There is no such voice, because there is no such thing as "moderate Islam."
Denouncing Islam is Biblical. If you mean what you say defend Osama's religion (whatever he may call it) or else change your post to allow condemnation of religions which you personally find distasteful.
