I Urge An End To Calls For Retaliation Against "Islam"
Self | September 11, 2001 | Self

Posted on 09/11/2001 4:07:58 PM PDT by Illbay

Just above the text box into which I'm typing, it says, and I quote, "NO racist or violence posts."

Ladies and Gentlemen, FReepers of every race, CREED and color, I urge an immediate moratorium on the nauseatingly bigoted comments directed against "Islam," or "Muslims," or any negative reference to anyone strictly because of his or her religion. FR is no place for this trash, and I'd like to publicly call on the Esteemed Moderators to hunt down and erase all such tripe from FR.

You are right. Also those terrorists weren't real muslims. I saw on AMW last night that they would go out drinking alcohol and using strippers and probably prostitutes.
Anyone who knows anything about the Islam or muslim religion knows that all such behavior is not allowed and makes one unclean in that religion. Just as it would be a sin for those who are true christians.

Remember we were friends with the Germans before they bombed Pearl Harbor.

Who could forget?

You are driven to your unyielding predjudices against Islam you mean. These fatwah condemn the acts, regardless of who it is committed by. Condemn the individual and the condemnation is limited to that one person. Condmen the acts and they include anyone and everyone who performs the transgression.

But just out of curiosity, of all the expressions of sorrow that have come from the nations of the world, how many mentioned bin Laden by name? Do you assume that they support bin Laden, too?

I am aware that Osama was tossed out of Saudi Arabia, hence my suggestion that Saudi Arabia be forced by the international community to abandon Sharia, under threat of invasion and conquest. It is this philosphy that creates the atmosphere in which terrorists are created. Turkey was secularised in the early twentieth century and you don't see Turks committing terrorist acts.

The constitution gives the Muhammadans the right to express joy over the attack. The First Amendment protects unpopular speech. On the other hand, the constitution also protects people's right to express disgust and loathing for Muhammadans and Muhammadanism too.

The idea that people have some right to go through life without ever hearing any idea that offends them is P.C. crap. As long as people are just talking both sides have a right to say what they think. If either side turns to physical violence the other side has an obligation to defend themselves.

It is also important to understand that the constitution only covers actions within our borders. Nothing in the constitution prohibits us from destroying any nation or group that harbors those who attack the U.S. or speak out against our interests.

If some Muhammadan wants to tell me he is happy this happened, I will tell him what I think of his religion, his mother, the "profit" and my feelings about him personally. I don't care if he is offended. As long as he is just talking I'll defend his right to talk and exercise my right to talk. If he wants to get violent, I'm ready to defend myself with superior violence to repel the attack.

As for Muhammadans in general, let them condemn those who act in their name. If a group did this in the name of the Roman Catholic Church, I would expect he Pope and the Bishops to be condemning them loud and often. I don't think that's unreasonable to expect.

Any time people take action in the name of an organized group, that group has the responsibility to condemn that action if they don't support it. No Muhammadan cleric has condemned the bastards, so we can reasonably conclude they support them.

Muhammadans who are legally in this country should have the same rights as everyone else who is here legally. We should not let any more into the country, and expel any here illegally, but the ones who are here legally should enjoy the same rights as everyone else. Muhammadan countries and groups outside our borders should be considered the enemy until they prove they are not.

Sussa, this is one of the most reasoned pieces I have seen written on the forum. Thank you for calming stating the obvious.

But if innocents do die, their blood in NOT ON OUR HANDS.

...which is one of the justifications for terrorism. So we've come full circle.

Why no negative comments re someone's religion? Even if there deserved? Let's remember that, the fatwa against Salman Rushdie was a terrorist act and a sizeable number of Muslims in Britain supported it.

There is A HUGE difference between TARGETING INNOCENTS...which they did....which we don't....and between an act of WAR perpetrated against us....and in RESPONDING to such an attack.

If you do not already understand the difference, I doubt I can penetrate your thought process.

Unfortunately, the the innocents who are killed, there is no difference. But I'm sure this is apparant to you.

All this "tolerance" tripe reminds me of Neville Chamberain. Racial profiling works.

You're right. And right now, as politically incorrect as this may be, every middle eastern looking man who sets foot in an Mosque is a terrorist suspect. And until these people SHOW us their loyalty to America, by turning over their Moslem brothers who speak sedition, turning over those whom they know have made un-American statements and join with us in calling for the deaths of Fundamentalist Moslem extremists who hate America, then they must be considered as suspects themselves.

Merely saying they condemn this is not sufficient. These Mosques have been staging areas for terrorists. These Moslems know more than they are saying.

Sometimes the truth is the most politically incorrect thing in the world. Praise the Lord.

There is something in the religion also. While I agree there are lots of nice Muslims that I know at a personal level and I am not out pointing guns at them, there is something in their philosophy that pulls them back to the 1000 year period. I have been in business 25years and we have treated maybe 40 to 50 Muslims in a healthcare field. I have had two Saudis pay me (I suspect because they carried good insurance through their government) and I have one very nice and honorable Iranian (Muslim) that pays his account. Where are the other 38 or so that have skipped on their obligations?? I do have the sense that they somehow get points for cheating Christians. Is that a bigoted comment? I don't know. It is just my experience nothing more.

You and I are of the same religious persuasion, but I disagree that there are moderate Muslims with any real power over the direction of Islam. Moderate Muslims exist only under the nice big protective umbrella of Christianity here in the USA. In most of the world, fanatics control the direction of ISLAM. Moderate Islamic leaders are usually dead within hours of condemning suicide bombing strategies or pointing out that those who practice them are heretical. ISLAM in theory may be begnign, I grant you that. In its historical framework it can mean the death Western civilization.

Islam is not the problem - the concept of the United States of Islam is the problem - no different than Hitler's vision of the world!
