FYI - NOT CONSISTENT with claim that plane is a 737. No runways in that county that can handle that size plane.

I have put the family on high alert. I am going to assume terrorism, and take care of my family based on that. If not, great. If it is, the terrorists better hope they don't run across me and mine. God bless, save and keep America.

I would say a good A.M. to one and all but I am don't think its goning to be a good day for a lot of people in NY today. I know that the victims and families will need our prayers to the enth degree. I just can't see why people want to cause havoc, death and injury to us but, it happens. May the persons responsible burn in hell!.

Other airports slightly further:

Albany
Bridgeport
Providence
Philadelphia

Poughkeepsie can handle the landing of a 737 in an emergency, but not takeoff.

As a child I was amazed as I watched documentaries where Japanese pilots struck warships. The 2nd plane reminded me of that. Unbelieveable.

Singapore, last week-end was a wonderful time to be a sports fan in Seattle!

No kidding! The Huskies sent the Big 10 standard bearers home licking their wounds, the Seahawks got their season off to the right start, and the Mariners continued their unstoppable march to their rightful title of "indisputable kings of the baseball universe"!

Consider these facts:

• The Mariners are now exactly on pace to win a record 117 games. The current record is 116 wins set in 1906 by the Chicago Cubs. (BTW, try finding that information at ESPN, USA Today or any other New York-based sports media outlet. Guess they're all too busy talking up the possibility of Barry Bonds tying or breaking the 3-year-old home run record.)
• The Mariners have an almost identical winning percentage since the All-Star break (.719) as they did at the All-Star break (.724)
• The Mariners have scored the most runs and given up the fewest of any team this year. Don't know how often it's happened, but I can guarantee you that it is EXTREMELY rare.
• The Mariners have not lost a road series since August last year, a current streak of 28 series without losing 2 out of 3. That's another all-time record and one they took away from those 1906 Cubs.
• The Mariners have not lost 3 games in a row all season. 'nuff said.

Here's some more meat to chew on. There's an article over at ESPN that compares this year's Mariners to the '98 Yankees position-by-position. Predictably, they give more nods to the Yankees, but they also give clear evidence that it is far easier to have an unusually good year in an expansion year (1998 was an expansion year). In other words, what the Mariners are doing this year is more remarkable than what the Yankees did in 1998.

Is everyone convinced that the Mariners are for real? Nope. There are at least two odds makers in Las Vegas that do not have the Mariners as the favorites to win the World Series. Many experts agreed, but admitted that if the very same team and manager was wearing Yankee pinstripes, they would consider them to be unbeatable in the post-season.

One more point: Despite the fact that the Mariners have won well over 70% of their games since the All-Star game, they do not have the best record in baseball since the All-Star game. That would be the Oakland A's who have won around 75% of their games. In fact, the A's will quite likely have as good or better a second half of the season than the Mariners first half. Yikes! If the Yankees get past the A's AND the Mariners to win another World Series, they'll deserve it like no other team ever has.

President Bush just spoke. Said it was an apparent act of terrorism. National tragedy. Full resources of the federal government. Terrorism against the United States will not stand. Full force will be used to hunt down perpetrators.

No way the regular crews could be in charge on the flight deck. A pilot I am certain would have chosen to be shot rather than deliberately fly a plane into a building.
