Guess what, everybody?! I got Laura Bush's autograph on my National Book Festival program Saturday!!!! I was so excited. I got to look her right in the eye. I completely froze when she looked up at me and said "You're welcome." Then I had to turn around and leave because I started to cry!! LOL

She's a very lovely person. She kept saying "I'm going to have to quit now" but then she would just keep signing programs! And she was great with the kids--talking to them, hugging them, posing with them. She's beautiful (pretty thin, too) and she sounds the same in person as on TV. I'll never forget it. And it was just a lucky coincidence that I was there when she was leaving the building. Our President keeps company with a lovely and gracious LADY.
