Thanks! It was just as amusing to see the dunderhead responses at DU. Hmmmm...Let's see. The GDP growth dropped from 5.6% in the 2nd quarter of 2000 to 2.2% in the 3rd quarter. By the last quarter of 2000, the economy grew at an anemic 1 percent - the weakest performance in 5 ½ years. And who was president then? DUH!

I think car dealers are to blame, too much is going toward new car/truck payments (have you seen them all on the freeway?) at interest rates that do not reflect the current Clinton-induced, pre-ressession that was supposed to shoe-in his bride (of Frankenstein) in 2004, regardless who occupied the WH..... "It's the Plan".

Socialists operate on a 5-year plan. Don't know why, but perhaps that's as far as they feel comfortable yanking your wallet (and it's contents) out of the back of your pants or purse before you begin to notice.

Even the typical numb-assed American will begin to notice that he's traveling a little lighter after these five years of re-distribution.
