To live free in America today. To live in real freedom as envisioned by our forefathers. Seems simple enough seems like something everyone would want. Meanwhile in the real world we step farther and farther away from what now looks more like a dream than a reality. If we look back can we pin point the time that we turned away from our foundation. Can we point out when we stopped believing in the The Bill of Rights, how men died to instill the freedoms of generations to come. We live now in a world of complacency. Everyone seems to take their freedom for granted. We hear the politicians telling us what they envision for our futures and how they will make this a better world for all. Seems like to many people are happy enough to just plod along in life being told what is best for them by men who are disenchanted from reality living in Washington D.C. It seems to me that the longer we go on the more freedoms we lose and you would think this would be plain as day to everyone. Some how the majority of America has lost site of this. You would think the biggest support of freedom would come from the youth of America the ones who strive to make a so called better world. Some how politics in America has distorted the views of the youth into believing what the politician says is best is best. The average college student today believes that firearms are a thing of the past and must be destroyed. They believe in freedom of speech as long as it is good for their cause. They believe the Government is here to finance everyone’s mistakes and short comings. They would rather be stripped of every right to protect themselves because some politician has told them that if we get rid of all guns crime will go down and you will be safe. The Government of the United States has painted patriotic citizens as wakos and uneducated red necks what are they so afraid of. Are they afraid that us wakos might make since we might educate people to reality and let them know how great this nation truly could be. Now our Government uses scare tactics like coming to our protests and videoing us. Threatening to build the big bad profile on all of us. Threatening to arrest us for exercising our basic rights as guaranteed to us by our Government. I think maybe the biggest wake up call of all would be to send all doubters and anti Americans of to a nicer place like Thailand, Korea, Philippians, Iran, Iraq you name we can ship them there. Then they can see how nice they really do have it and I will be willing to bet that a vast majority of them will come back and become the most ardent patriots among us. What does the average person in America know about being deprived of anything. As long as they can still watch T.V. and go to the gym they are happy and leave all the other stuff up to our favorite elected officials just do not interrupt an episode of Friends to do it. To put it into perspective you would probably have more of a back lash on media if they cancelled say FRIENDS then if they came out and said we no longer support the Bill of Rights. My best friend falls into this group of people he tells me over and over about how crazy we are. He did make a comment to me once that we have debated many times he said “How much are you willing to give up to live a normal life”. Here is what he meant by this statement as long as I can go to work have my wife and kids at home I will be happy. He says why worry about what is going on by way of new laws he will conform and follow them just to keep a normal life. So asked what about freedom of speech and the second amendment. He says neither really apply to him. I believe that a lot of people feel the same way. This is why it has been so easy for the Government to portray us as wakos. They say we fear change I say yes I fear change if it is going to affect my rights and the freedoms we hold so dear. The Tyranny Response Team that started here in Colorado was to me my chance to be part of something. To be part of a group that held my same basic beliefs. Now I know not everyone in the TRT holds the exact same ideas that I do but it is the basic ideas that count. We started off with an idea and a dream and now it has grown into something big. We have been able to embrace every American if they want to join we have put no barriers up on who can come and stand beside us and fight for their freedom and rights. But somewhere along the way we have lost some of our members. We no longer put the same numbers on the street that we could guarantee just 1 year ago. Is this because people no longer care I think not. I think that some of our group is just overwhelmed by the task that is before us. I think that some peoples ideas and hopes didn’t quite match the person standing next to them. I would like to just say things are changing the TRT has new direction new leadership and a devotion to freedom that no other group can touch. We have enjoyed support from many other excellent groups out there and I think that most of us appreciate that more than we will ever admit to. Groups like RMGO, SAS, GOA, JPFO, and many others. I would like to extend my hand back out to all new members and any new members and say please come back and give us a try. We can not do what we have set out to do without support from every freedom loving man woman and child. Yes we went through some growing pains and we still have lots more growing to do but come out and be a part of it and yes your ideas do count here your thoughts are welcome because the TRT will not turn you away we welcome all to come out.
