"Plainclothes Marines?" Yes

World exclusive - must credit Alamance Independent: "Plainclothes Marines?" Yes - and the Marines openly admitted last Thursday that they are training such units for "urban warfare" missions, such as "peacekeeping." They even bragged about the unit's skills in an Aug. 31, 2000 press release.

"Plainclothes Marines" - officially named "Radio Recon" units - are being trained at Ft. Hase in Hawaii now. At least a company of these Marines is now in training.

Members of these units are armed with 9mm pistols as their main weapon - the same 9mm Beretta common throughout the U.S. military - and are undergoing extensive night-firing training with them. Their training, drills, and equipment seem much more like that of an American big-city police force than that of any typical Marine.

Unlike other Marines carrying the 9mm pistol, members of the "radio recon" units are training to carry them in concealment holsters - rather than the military-style flap-over holster. They are required to become proficient in fast-draw drills - for which they train at an FBI range in Hawaii. To qualify, each of the "plainclothes Marines" must draw and hit the target in two seconds - including recognizing it as hostile.

These "plainclothes Marines" are being trained to be deployed with the 15th and 31st Marine Expeditionary Units.

In the likely event that they aren't in uniform when fighting, "plainclothes Marines" won't be entitled to POW status if captured - according to the Geneva Convention.

I wonder if they are being trained for duty in the US working with UN troops.

One trains and practices for one's next mission. The twenty-nine palms questionaire was a good first step to separate "fit" from "unfit" in the world of civilian control.

Yup. they're coming to get us. I'm sure this kind of training couldn't be used to defend our overseas bases, Embassies, and other against terroists. I'm sure plain clothes at those posts mentioned wouldn't help protect our guys from being targeted in sensitive areas. No, this is specifically for door to door gun confiscation in every American city. From my cold dead yada, yada, yada.

Ah, but this a whole company of Marines. This could ONLY be for executing American citizens, with a little help from BATF, DEA, FBI, CIA, NSA, US Marshalls, National Guard, all reservists, state and local police, The Boy Scouts of America, and the YMCA.

How right you are. Our government never did nor never will misuse military forces(especially against US citizens). Govt must be trusted without question.

What I do trust is Marines completing any mission given them successfully. I just question the source of orders.......

How many Marines are in a "company", and what armaments and mechanical assets are part of the company?

"..including recognizing it as hostile."

When they come fer yer guns, everyone will be deemed hostile to the Amerinazi jack-boots, thereby being able to make their hit in 2 seconds.

See THIS for more of this.

In November of 1998 The Secretary of Defense ordered the 31st MEU to the Gulf aboard the ships of the Belleau Wood Amphibious Ready Group, in response to Iraq's refusal to cooperate with U.N.-sanctioned weapons inspections. While in the Middle East, the 31st MEU operated in support of U.S. and British air strikes against Iraq during Operation Desert Fox. Additionally, the Marines assisted in the evacuation of 88 Department of State diplomats and family members from the U.S. Embassy, Kuwait, and took up defensive positions near Kuwait in preparation for possible Iraqi retaliation.

My Bad, scuse me. I thought you were pressing the company line. I'm on a short fuse, sorry.

My complaint isn't the Cops or the Murderer Beck,.... my major problem is the use of an M-60 for LEO work in the burb's and cities of CONUS.

BTW ... Career EOD ,half in half out of the drink. Sorry for the slam, cervesa and steak on me when we meet.

Stay Safe.
