Captured shark bites fisherman

A 44-year-old fisherman became Florida's latest shark bite victim Saturday, receiving bite wounds that required him to be airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment, hospital spokeswoman Marilyn Chin said.

The victim, whose name was not released, was in good condition late Saturday.

The shark bit the victim in his left leg and on several fingers of his left hand, Chin said.

A Miami-Dade Fire Rescue supervising dispatcher said the fisherman caught the shark off Everglades National Park and brought it onto his boat. Then he sprayed himself with insect repellent, became slippery and fell off the boat, accidentaly bringing the shark back into the water with him. That's when he was bitten.

Some 40 shark attacks have been reported in Florida and other states in recent months.

I hate it when my insect repellent makes me slippery and I fall into the water ... happened to me three times this week alone!

I saw a Houston mosquito yesterday that could carry off a small child.

I bet the Budweiser is what really made him slippery.

I think the fisherman should have sprayed the shark with insect repellent! Then the shark would have slipped off the boat, and he would be no worse off than he was when he started.

Do they make shark repellent? Maybe it will work on the mosquitoes.

This story just made me think of another get-rich-quick-scheme ... ya' want in with me?

We could develop a spray that both repells mosquitoes AND sharks.

Only an idea ....... &;-)

Not sure if this means the angler is a reformed leftist, or a right-winger.

Is it any wonder that lawyer's fees cost you an arm and a leg? Look at their family tree.

We could develop a spray that both repells mosquitoes AND sharks.

And bees.

I heard on the radio yesterday that a bee stung a woman, making her fall off her horse and when the neighbor came over to help, he ran her over with the car, killing her. Sounds like it was her time.

I'm not sure if bug spray would have helped here either.

Woman dies after getting run over by friend after bee sting, fall from horse

"I saw a Houston mosquito yesterday that could carry off a small child."

Here in Louisiana, I've heard mosquitos being described as, "big enough to stand flatfoot in the dust and f#*k a turkey."
