[history]
Kudos to the Bush administration and Secretary of State Colin Powell for taking a principled and courageous stand in withdrawing from the United Nations World Conference Against Racism.
This widely celebrated gathering in Durban, South Africa, was ostensibly convened to celebrate tolerance and diversity, but instead became a platform for the dissemination of anti-Israeli and anti-American propaganda.

"Mr. Annan cited people being "denied jobs ostensibly because they lack educational qualifications." Geez, I guess I should apply for a job as a surgeon or an astronaut, now that I know it is just a trick that many employers use, requiring educational qualifications! I guess I can learn this trade on the job!!! sheesh!!!!

Mr. "I'm a PeaNUT" Carter is an idiot which he proved in less than four years as El Presidente in the seventies. He only opens his mouth now because Ronald Reagan is able to shut it anymore.
This is about shaking down the USA for money plain and simple......like so many arguments by the democrats regarding the poor etc. this argument too could come back to bit the UN in the ars. And of course it will work wounders (not a typo) toward bringing us all closer to peace around the world. (Sar-Casm)

Asa Republican, I will actually admit that I used to like Jimmy Carter ... guess it's because of his strong Christian faith. But the more he speaks lately, the more I have to agree ... "what a peanut!"
And Jesse "Race Card" Jackson. We should not let that "camera crazed black racist" back in the country.
He's like a radio "shock jock" going after whatever will get the phones to ring. He cares about nothing except getting his "sound bites" in the paper. I wish that FOX and other networks would just ignore him. He is NOT news, but rather he is constrantly seeking News coverage of himself. Excuse me while I go vomit.... Where's Jesse Peterson when you need him. We need MORE African-American's to speak out against this jerk and more network coverage of THEM, not "race-card" Jackson.

Actually Jimmy Carter is a very nice guy, and he's intellectually smart, too. But he never had a clue about how the real world works or which end is up. It's ironic that the worst president and the second-worst president the US has ever seen were clinton and carter, one a nice guy and the other a total scum. What they have in common is a total lack of what the Bible calls wisdom.

You know what? I don't think the conference was aimed at the U.S. and Israel at all. I think Arabs and Africans knew that Israel and the U.S. either would not attend or would depart when the Third-World agenda was pushed so violently. I think this whole thing was about getting money from the EU -- and it looks like it's going to work.

Well, there's no hope for Peter Tom Rather or CNN but at least FOX should only interview rational leaders who can state a positive case without the slave dialect.

But Jesse Jackson, attending the conference as a member of the Black Leadership Forum, accused the Bush administration of using the dispute concerning Israel as an excuse to exit the meeting to avoid serious discussion of slavery and reparations for the descendants of African slaves. It seems Mr. Jackson can always be counted on to take the anti-American position. Interestingly, his remarks exactly mirrored those of one of the leading spokesmen for the Palestine Liberation Organization. I have to wonder what all those elderly Jewish people in Palm Beach think of Jackson now??? I hope they feel foolish and used by this ridiculous charlatan has only his self-interests in mind.

I agree with you...the European Union is trying to forge itself into a super-power but, unfortunately for them, it's not working out too well...they pose as high-minded intellectuals but the real reason IMHO that they side with the Arab nations is oil and trade...remember back when Reagan targeted Libya after the Lockerbie bombing and France wouldn't let US planes fly over their country...it came out at the time that Italy and France had major economic ties to the Arab nations...Fiat, if I remember correctly, was locked into trade deals with Libya...it's always about money and posturing...the USA is geographically bigger and more environmentally diversified than Europe so we can exist without them but they can't stand alone...the EU, however, is headed by socialist countries and they can't stand the fact that the younger USA can live without them but not vice versa...the green-eyed monster of jealousy is rearing its ugly head...and GW just goes about conducting American business for Americans and letting them twist in the wind...LOL...BTW I was talking with some friends from Greece who were telling me that Europe was upset over Kyoto...I explained the hypocrisy behind Europe's stance and then wound up saying who the hell cares about what Europe thinks anyway...their faces fell... it was a hoot!
