Good. Why? He lost once already to flaming left wing trial lawyer John Edwards.
To: flwilliams
our only hope is libby dole,we must keep that senate seat republican.

You may be right, but what a statement of where we've come to.
To: plain talk
I can't believe NC cannot come up with something better than Liddy Dole.

Here comes gun-control Dole!
To: green team 1999
I don't think Dole can win.
To: flwilliams
Now there's good news. Burr may decide that he can win by taking the conservative vote, and Dole/Vinroot split the "moderate" vote. But, I'm starting to think I just want the damn seat, and no Dem even polls near Dole. N.C. Politics-God Jim Hunt even loses to Dole.

Well, it will be interesting to see what the mood in Winston-Salem is tomorrow.

Bush won NC with 56% so it is not a dem state nationwide. I think Dole LOSES. Why? Rural gunowners and suburban pro-lifers stay home or even vote dem when her views come out, not to mention that she doesn't live in the state.
I predict an upset if Dole is the nominee. If she was pro-2nd amendment, she'd win. Lauch Faircloth caved there and paid for it.

Clearing the runway for Liddy RINO.

BTW - I think she's only polling high now because of her name. They don't know what she really stands for.

I agree. We need someone younger and tougher to take on Liddy Dole in the primary. Faircloth had his shot in 1998.

The GOP elite is moving full steam ahead in their game plan to de-conservativize the GOP. They want Dole here and now they've demanded that Bob Smith, staunch conservative Senator from NH step aside for Sununu lite.
To: Dan from Michigan
The reality is that Dole walks away with it should she get into the race. The dems know this: they put up a bunch of lousy senatorial women candidates in 2000 and nearly swept them all.
To: Dan from Michigan
That may be true, Dan. On the other hand, did anyone EVER learn what Edwards stands for? He won even though he is a trial lawyer.
I am not particularly fond of Elizabeth Dole, but she does seem to be well-liked in NC and I WANT THAT SEAT. Dole will vote far more for our side than any democrat would.
I am sure glad I don't have to make all these decisions. Gives me a headache.

FYI, it's LIDDY Dole.
