Like I said before, until he makes a decision, I will withhold my opinion. And, when a decision is made, I think my opinion may surprise many here on FR- including those who visit the daily dose.
Until then, I find it a waste of time fuming over possibilities. I've emailed my position to my Congressmen so all any of us can do is wait for a decision to happen.

Think again Georgie! "Guest Worker" is newspeak for amnesty and the heck with the taxpayers! We're not buying your cheap labor bromides!

I would have expected this Amnesty talk from Gore if he were in the big chair, but not Bush. Next election, I guess I go Independent or write in.
An analogy: The U.S.A. is like a cruise ship on the ocean. All of the other countries of the world also have cruise ships on the ocean, some bigger some smaller. Ours is the nicest ship with the greatest standard of living and way of life than any of the others. Masses of people want to come aboard our ship. There is only one problem...there is a maximum capacity. Beyond that the standard of living goes down for almost everybody (not the wealthy or politicians). The million dollar question is? What can be done about it?

I'm a Bush support overall but on this one, I think he's wrong. We should not be rewarding those who have chosento ignore our laws. It's just a slap in the face of those who are trying to obtain citizenship the legal way.
It's no suprise that the Democrats, (Democrats immediately urged their GOP colleagues to quickly move "comprehensive" immigration legislation that would emphasize family reunification, establish a guest worker program, and include an earned legalization component for some of those "guest workers.") are pushing for this. I'm sure they see 3 million possible democratic voters for 2002.

The fact that they use the word migration should be the tip off that these will not be guest workers but permanent additions to the population. Migrations have historically resulted in he native population being displaced. We need to stop this farce and just move the border north now. Maybe if a few thousand illegals settled on Bushs ranch he might get a clue. This is going to get nasty when people finally wake up to the fact that the half million dollar homes they have been paying on are now going to belong to our new guests.

You will never move the border far enough to end this problem. Face it now or you just as well fly to Boston and start swimming east.

"I also agree with [Fox's] call for quick and immediate action on immigration reform. I think we can have an agreement this year," said House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt, D-Mo. "It is clear to me that many Republicans in Congress are not where the president is, and not where we are."/ And Bush is different than Gore, how? /sarcasm, don't even go there, no need.
If Bush thinks this is flying in his home state, he is listening to the wrong folks. Has Molly Ivins joined the staff?

This tells me IMMEDIATELY if President Bush is right or wrong. Wrong AND Left is the truth. I will state this again for the record - though I may be laughed at - I believe this is President Bush's mistaken application of Christianity to ruling a country that is guiding him in his ( unfortunate) amnesty decisions.
