Thanks, kayak! Saw part of this last night on C=SPAN. I was very proud of how wonderful they appeared. Loved hearing "Hail to the Chief," too.

Life must be pretty good if the Times is reduced to criticizing the table settings. My bet is that the folks who were at the dinner know exactly how to maneuver through the flatware. Oooohhh--maybe THAT'S why the press weren't invited! The President didn't want them embarassed by their own lack of manners!
