Nice research.
Following the money and betrayal of our country by the Clintonista's should be two drums that a beaten with regularity.
To: kristinn
Who has the doocumments, I thought they all went with Clinton to a leaky warehouse in Arkansas. Perhaps the records were destroyed as were others in the Clinton Administration the last day.
To: Publius
You are my new hero on FR - thinking beyond what is seen and published by lamestream media. It's not over 'til it's over, eh?
To: Alamo-Girl
In fact, that aspect seems so obvious to me I can't help but wonder if the end result won't be the airing of Clintonian laundry by judicial mandate, i.e. the Bush administration couldn't be accused of being mean-spirited, partisan, witch hunting, etc. Help me out here, ok?
Now, who is it that got all those FBI files a few years ago? ;-(
To: Alamo-Girl
A voice of reason -- thank you! It is so obvious that this Administration cannot go out and release everything they have as the press would be in a feeding frenzy against the Bush Administration. Now if the courts get involved everything has to come out and no vast right wing conspiracy can be claimed. I chose to reply to Alamo Girl for a reason -- her comments make sense and she is not involved in what has been going on, but is concentrating on making things better and investigating instead of trashing!
To some folks on here and the person that pinged me: Is your dislike of President Bush so much that you cannot see that sometimes there is strategy at work? They cannot undo everything from the past eight years in a little over six months not to mention at DOJ Ashcroft didn't even have people he could trust forever. Why not go after the Senators that are holding up confirmations? This President doesn't work at being on the front page of newspapers or leading off the evening news with what he and his Administration are doing. They are content to work behind the scenes and let people grumble they are not going fast enough or not paying attention. How do you all know what they are doing? Are you the experts and just when did everyone on here see all the evidence to conclude that Pres Bush is covering up treason?
I only replied because I was pinged. If the ***** folks want to keep doing this go ahead but this is my last reply to someone from there that just wants to start another flame war. To whoever decided to ping me to get in a disagreement, please don't do it again. I have just about had it with the Bush bashing on here and if I want to read and reply I will. If not, leave me alone!

Following are some of the privilege claims made by the Clinton Administration. Many of these are related to criminal investigations - and several involve FBI files and the Clintonian "secret police" - I.G.I. IMHO, the glaring difference is the party being protected by the assertion of privilege. All of these are defensive, protecting the Clinton administration ... the Bush assertion (which I believe will fail) is not evidently self-serving.
1993 - to block an inspection of Vince Foster's files after his suicide
1994 - to block turning over documents from its ethics review regarding Agriculture Secretary Mike Espy
1995 - to block lawyer's notes from conversations with Hillary Clinton

1996 - to block turning over a memo by FBI Director Louis Freeh criticizing the drug policy
1996 - to block turning over documents subpoenaed concerning Haiti police violence
1996 - to block turning over Travel Office documents
1997 - to block turning over campaign finance related records
1997 - to block testimony of Bruce Lindsey concerning James Riady - campaign finance
1997 - to block turning over documents pertaining to cancellation of an Indian casino

1998 - to block grand jury testimony of Bruce Lindsey ("attorney client") - Lewinsky

Thank you so much for your post!!! I understand your position, PhiKapMom! I try not to reply to confrontational pings either. The old adage is true, the squeaky wheel gets the oil.
Now that the Bush adminstration has settled in, it seems everyone with a discomfort is screaming impatiently if not angrily. That approach will backfire, IMHO.
I see Bush having a lot of the same persona as Reagan - friendly, kind, funny, positive. The more people rail against someone like that, the better they look by comparison.

1993 - to block an inspection of Vince Foster's files after his suicide This one is glaring. Suicide - yeah, right.
So what about the FBI files? Who has those? My real point is who knows what kind of threats are lurking out there, right?
To: MeeknMing
Of course, I have no idea whether or not the information from the misappropriated FBI files was retained in some other form. However, the growth of I.G.I. during the Clinton years was extremely troubling. Dick Morris coined the term "secret police" for I.G.I. - and their methodology is to gather smut. Also they hired some people who would have had inside information, e.g. Potts. But the value of "dirt" on politicians and journalists perishes over time and there's a new intelligence outfit in town. Even the press is deeply annoyed over the lack of leaks from the White House; I would be astonished to see other information leaked for political gain, e.g. Tripp's personnel files.

Glad you're back- being offline's agony, isn't it? You can listen to the Jackal Pack Press & go nuts from the spin, lies, and misdirection, or you can tune in talk radio, which covers most of the 'net stories, but Oh! So! Slowly!

You anti-Bush gaggle just can't get anything right when it comes to any action by the Bush Administration. Has it ever occured to you that KEEPING documents AWAY from Clinton holdovers, and other democrat operatives is the BEST thing to do until those who REALLY might do something about it can act on it?
