Planned Parenthood Tries to Block State's New 'Choose Life' License Plates

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Planned Parenthood of South Carolina asked a federal judge Tuesday to block the state from issuing "Choose Life" license plates, saying the new tags are unconstitutional.
Attorney Peter Murphy, who filed the lawsuit, said it's a violation of free speech for the state to provide a forum for one political view without providing a chance to express opposing views.
"The fact that only one choice is being provided by the state is exactly what's wrong," Murphy said.

There was a Planned Parenthood ad showing a computer screen and the mouse pointer clicking on 'Undo'. The tagline said something along the lines of 'wishing it were that easy.' I must say I was shocked.

I think what they really meant to say was "Wishing we weren't so easy."

You think Pro-Choice is the opposite of Choose Life? How is "Choose Life" anti-pro-choice? You don't really mean "Choice" when you say "Pro-Choice", do you? You mean Pro-Killing Unborn Babies.

LL...here in Texas we have the following:

And Justice For All
Animal Friendly
Boy Scout
Collegiate (i.e. UT, A&M, etc.)
Conservation - Bluebonnet (state flower)
Conservation - Horned Lizard (state something or other)
Girl Scout
Keep Texas Beautiful
New Millennium
Personalized (put on it what you want...)
Read to Succeed
State Capitol
Texas Aerospace Commission
Texas Agricuultural Products
Texas Commission on the Arts
Texas - It's Like a Whole Other Country (it is, too!)
Texas Red Grapefruit
U.S. Olympic Committee
Volunteer Advocate
Wetlands Conservation

Not a whole lot of liberal causes, mostly just things promoting the state. I like the fact that we can get Boy Scout and Girl Scout plates.

In Indiana, if you get a vanity plate with your initials or whatever, the extra cost you pay is split between the state Republican and Democrat parties. The whole license branch system used to be a political gift for whatever party was in office. That's been cleaned up (supposedly), but the vanity plate situation was left as a sop to the big parties.

So, any Hoosier third-party or independent voters are advised to avoid the vanity plates.

Texans have their heads on straight as usual. Why not get extra money by selling what people want? Gosh, when else do people line up to pay more in taxes than they are required to pay? I was in La Feria when Ruby Red grapefruit was introduced to the Rio Grande Valley. I bet everyone in the bidness has to have one of those plates. What a painless way for the state to raise extra money.

If some are offended. So be it.

No big deal. Planned Parenthood is free to submit a vanity plate with the slogan: "A Woman's Body A Woman's Choice." End of issue. So what the heck are they whining about?

When I saw this in the paper this morning, I spit coffee. "The State" paper has the article as well: HERE . I say this law suit violates MY FREE SPEECH by trying to stop what I put on my car. I'm hoping this suit gets tossed on its royal rear.
