President Trump said that he was in 'no rush' to decide whether to resume fighting Iran on the eve of the midterm elections.
Speaking to Axios on Monday afternoon, he said: 'One way or the other, we will do something, but there is no rush. We crippled them financially. They have no money, no gasoline and their people are getting very tired of it.'...
The president held the final rally of his nationwide, 28-stop midterm campaign yesterday in Salina, Kansas as he sought to shore up Republican support and preserve the party's congressional majorities.
Democrats' odds of taking control of the Senate have climbed to a record high according to prediction platform Kalshi. The app gives Democrats a 74 percent chance of winning the Senate, the highest it has reached, and a 94 percent chance of taking the House, according to the platform as of Monday morning.
The president's latest approval ratings show that 56 percent of voters disapprove of his performance, compared with just 41 percent who approve, according to a Morning Consult poll.
That leaves Trump with a net approval rating of -15 points, his weakest standing since returning to the White House and ever in his two terms.
Ahead of November 3, the president threatened to wield the veto if Democrats gain control, saying he 'hoped that it won't be the case,' but 'if it is, it’s happened before with many presidents. You have a strong veto and you end up working out deals.'

He will wait until polls close tomorrow.
Seems like Iran blockade is pretty effective right now.
A few weeks ago I read that Iran was almost out of money, fuel, food, water, oxygen and everything else it is possible to run out of. I haven’t heard anything about it recently. What’s the situation? Was it just more hyperbole from the administration?
“...weakest standing...” says the DM, meanwhile London has fallen to the Muzzies.
Considering that this is from the Daily Smell, the bombers are probably already in route. Israel has no doubt been preparing also.
Unpopular war???
Has a war ever been popular?
He will wait until polls close tomorrow.

Maybe, but the sanctions are really beginning to bite so the longer he waits, the better the Iranian people are able to overthrow the IRGC
There is another dynamic at work as well
The price of oil and diesel fuel have been run up to astronomical levels not justified by fundamentals by speculators and by Trump political enemies trying to manipulate the elections
Many of these enemies are counting on Trump military action after the election to supporting their high price futures positions
Trump and Bessant are getting ready to give these guys a real hard lesson as payback for their attempts to keep prices high in the run up to the election to help Democrats grab power
A few weeks ago I read that Iran was almost out of money, fuel, food, water,......

Weeks? They’ve been feeding us that bull for months.
Some more so than others.
Grok says:
There are no single contemporaneous polls that ranked every U.S. war since 1900 in one survey (scientific polling only began in the mid-1930s), but historians, pollsters (especially Gallup), and analysts have compiled historical public-opinion data that allow clear comparisons of support levels while the wars were being fought. Compilations of initial public support are the most common way these are ranked.
A widely cited New York Times / Visual Capitalist compilation of polling data (Gallup and others) ranks major U.S. interventions by initial approval of military action:
1 World War II 97% 1941
2 Afghanistan War 92% 2001
3 Persian Gulf War 82% 1991
4 Panama Invasion 80% 1989
5 Iraq War 76% 2003
6 Korean War 75–78% 1950
7 Kosovo 58% 1999
8 Grenada Invasion 53% 1983
9 Libya Intervention 47% 2011
10 Iran conflict (recent) 41% 2026
This war that was supposed to only last 4 weeks, yeah, it’s very very unpopular. There were a lot of us saying this alone was gonna tank the hell out of the midterms. Couple that with sky high gas and high groceries. Did trump care that this would happen? Or was he forced into it. I’ve listened to some trump people that think someone forced him into this position.

Folks here have provided dozens of reasons justifying this war.
I have found all of them unconvincing.
Now we can just hope this unforced error does not hurt us too badly.
What War) There is a stalemate, nothing by has happened for weeks.
It could and should have been over in April.
Forced suggests vulnerability but over what I don’t know. I suspect when the Dems take the house the investigations into his son-in-law and his connections to UAE, SA and Israel will accelerate. Other than that I just haven’t been able to figure out why this was done.
JUST IN: U.S. strikes Iran’s Qeshm Island, per WSJ.
The Iran war would have been over in 4 weeks if our leaders did not waste months “negotiating” with radical Islam.
All Trump had to say was we’re gonnna economically strangle them. Nothing more.
All this other non sense he talks up about waiting until after the elections. Sorry, NOT HELPFUL with idiot voters who equate Iran and high gas prices.
It was a stupid play. Where are his advisors???
We shall see.
I pray we don’t get hammered. Is there enough normal willing to go vote to save the Country?
