Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro declared himself the leader of Brazil's opposition Wednesday after arriving in the United States with his family, accusing President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's government and Brazil's powerful Supreme Court of orchestrating political persecution following a disputed presidential election.
In a defiant statement resembling the declaration of a government-in-exile leader, Bolsonaro vowed to direct Brazil's opposition from American soil, comparing his struggle to historic resistance movements led by Charles de Gaulle and Venezuelan opposition figures.
"I want to tell not only my 60 million voters, but the Brazilian people, that I am the leader," Bolsonaro declared. "I will be our nation's voice and its free leadership."

They all do. Maduro won't talk. Machado and Rodriguez owe Trump. That they represent opposite sides of Venezuelan politics would add credibility. We've got to stop talking about non-citizens voting and get to the extra ballots Democrats are generating supposedly representing voters but are collected and sold on the open market by organized crime. Not buying that. We came way too close to losing a chopper full of people for that to be true. The lead MH-47 Chinook helicopter was hit by ground fire during the assault on Maduro’s compound. The flight leader, who also planned the mission, was shot three times in the leg but managed to keep the aircraft airborne, deploy the Delta Force commandos, and fly the damaged helicopter back to the USS Iwo Jima.
