- More than $29 billion would go to replace expended munitions, Pentagon data obtained by Reuters shows
- More than $6 billion would be needed from Congress for equipment and platform losses
- Latest estimate compares with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's July estimate of $37.5 billion
WASHINGTON, Oct 27 (Reuters) - The US military has spent over $47 billion so far to prosecute the
war in Iran, more than 25% higher than the Defense Department's estimate in July, according to Pentagon data obtained by Reuters.
The Pentagon did not immediately respond to a request for comment on its estimate, which has not been shared publicly.
The disclosure about the rising cost of the Iran war comes as Republicans wrestle with the political fallout of the unpopular conflict ahead of the November 3 election that will determine control of Congress for the next two years.

Trump launched the Iran war jointly with Israel in February, predicting that the conflict would last a short time.

Meaning Reagan should have destroyed Iran right after the attack in Lebanon.
Iran should have been nuked in 1979.

The cost of medicare annually is about a trillion.
If we were sticking to limited government, we would have plenty of money to deal w/Iran effectively.

True enough if the war is over and the objectives are achieved. But this war is not over. And I’m not even sure what the objectives really are.

8 months IS a short time. The Gulf War was a quickie.
And Saddam was toppled three weeks after the Iraq War began.
The capitulation of Venezuela was also a quickie.
Modern Americans expect a war to last weeks, if not days.

Outside estimates have put the war’s cost well above CBO’s number. One such estimate, from an in-depth report in May, placed the cost of the war’s first 60 days at nearly $72 billion vs Pentagon's $38 billion. https://www.taxpayer.net/national-security/the-cost-of-the-iran-war-keeps-growing/

Cheap against the cost of support for the war in Ukraine, $216 billion from the US alone? I think the cost of the Iran War is far greater than the Pentagon's estimates.
An alternate estimate puts the cost of the Iran War, as of August 27, at $103 Billion.
That was two months ago.

“How much has the “War on Terror” cost the USA/World since Jimmy Carter ?”
Or the $87 billion dollars of armaments that Obama and his installed Biden carcass purposely left for the terrorists to arm themselves with in Afghanistan.
President Trump will have to step up his game if he wants to match that. Those are rookie numbers.

The objectives of this current conflict were clearly explained.

“political ad for the Democratic party”
Satan and his shills, trolls and AI bots are out in desperate force ahead of the midterms. Expect it to get even worse. They know they have to move the dials.
To wait out President Trump and then start right back up where they left off destroying the USA. This is why some of the most egregious workers from hell have been keeping a low profile and staying hidden in the shadows. Letting the older ones speak instead. They expect to be moved right back into their career positions again.

And how much has the USA given Ukraine since 2022?
To: central_va
Here are the objectives I’ve heard so far:
Iran must surrender unconditionally.
Iran must give up all of its nuclear material.
We want to see a popular revolution within Iran.
So which one is our goal? Maybe all three? Don’t get me wrong. Those are worthy objectives. But none of them have been achieved so far. And given the reality of the situation, I don’t think any of them can be achieved.
