You may have seen the name Jackie Singh popping up on X over the last few days. But if you're not a member of the military or veteran community, you may not have paid attention to the details and simply scrolled by.
For those not in the know, Singh is known for her extreme left-wing independent journalism. As a brash and outspoken purveyor of progressive ideology, she has a background that many on the left do not — she served in the U.S. Army in an active combat zone. And she uses that detail to bludgeon any and all criticism of the policies she advocates.
Backlash was swift and intense, with hundreds of people calling her out for her ghoulish behavior. Her response to many was some variation of “F*ck you, I’m a veteran.”
Debate raged on in the replies until U.S. Marine Corps veteran Jeremy Knauff scrolled across the tweet. Appalled at what he saw, he began digging into Singh’s background, and once he got a hold of her service records, he concluded that her stories of combat service were greatly exaggerated. The more he dug, the worse it got.
“She did serve and was briefly in Iraq, that much is true,” he explains, adding:
“But she was never in a combat role as she claimed. Worse yet, she faced extensive disciplinary action for an ongoing pattern of misconduct that was so bad she was sent back to the U.S. after just a few months and discharged from the military entirely. I don’t think the average civilian understands just how badly you have to screw up to get sent home early from a combat deployment.”

No kidding. What a Leftist turd.
The “former military” is used by the Left like the migrant “magic soil” argument.
So, why don't we see a copy of the DD214?
Knauff has a copy of it on X. Not sure where he got that - DD-214’s are very restricted, so it sounds like someone either leaked it or faked it.
It looks brown.
When I was a Platoon Leader, we used a different tactic with a disciplinary problem. I gave him two choices: get his act together and continue to enjoy life on the Air Force base we were stationed on, or be transferred to our sister battalion whose mission was to support the Big Red One. Their training consisted of at least eight months of the year in the red mud of Grafenwoehr.
Conversely, our mission was short range air base defense. When there was an alert, it was basically a 4 day camping trip with an occasional visit from the NATO/USAFE evaluators.
There was always one in the bunch that didn't believe me, and ended up in Mannheim...lol. Invariably, they'd come back to visit and tell their buddies the LT was right.
SHE MUST HAVE BEEN WITH HILLARY ON THAT HELICOPTER???
What you said there was absolutely correct. I went to a process improvement seminar for our hospital, and it was a wide ranging effort to make us a “high reliability” organization. (it’s the Six Sigma thing)
So, nearly our entire hospital management went to this event (maybe a thousand of us?) and the guy at the lectern asked: “How many of you out there have someone working under you that you regard as a low performer, and cannot fire?”
I think nearly every single hand went up. It was a bit shocking to me.
But yes. Low performers drag everyone down, in both morale and performance.
Because you’d see that OTH or BCD discharge.
Same with High Performing/Low Trust people. Give me the Medium Performer with High trust any day of the week.
Veterans calling to ban guns are calling to violate the inalienable right to keep and bear arms as detailed in the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution they swore to uphold and protect. Such veterans need to be deported to England with a life time prison sentence if they ever return to a U.S. State or territory.
What would be an example of a “High Performing/Low Trust” employee? Not being a wise guy here. Just curious.
Someone who does their job really well and stabs someone else in the back?
I was wondering about this woman. Now I know more.
I was IN combat zones, in helicopters which took frequent small arms fire (and missile lock once - THAT got our pucker factor up) during MIA-POW recovery JTF-FA 1992 and 1993, Cambodia with the AVN BDE of 25th ID. Trained for combat, rated expert rifle, pistol, but I would never lie about something the way it sounds like she has.
Her DD-214 is very sparse, lotta “you had orders to” medals but not even a Good Conduct Medal or ARCOM. Short-timer, returned to Conus before end of deployment? ONLY in the sandbox Dec 12 2003 to March 21, 2004. Four months, one week. She reads on paper like a real PITA/problem child command couldn’t wait to GTFOT.
What’s missing is terms of discharge: Honorable, Less than honorable, for the good of the service, bad conduct… I wonder if the rest of it is available somewhere?
I saw a DD214 at this one site, but it was really, really small. I could have gotten to a larger picture, but I would have had to sign up for something. I just decided to take his word there was a problem.

See post 8 for link…
Spent 2 years consecutively in Kabul. You really have to be unbalanced, or screw up very badly to get sent home from a deployment. It happened. For example one guy accidentally shot someone while he was playing with his Glock. Another was unbalanced and it was thought he was going to harm himself.
Pretty much. This is your Toxic Leader type. A person who manages by fear and intimidation, takes credit for the success of others, and deflects blame, but his team gets results. I’ve worked for a couple of these types. It’s painful. The medium and low performers with high trust are folks who are usually not in leadership rolls, but can be mentored and coached. These folks can become the High Performing/High Trust people everyone wants to work with.
Didn’t know who she was.
