BREAKING:

The Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to restore a Biden-era regulation allowing immigration judges to suspend some deportation proceedings.........

The Supreme Court just gave President Trump a big win over immigration courts when it comes to deportations.

In short, the courts now no longer have the ability to close deportation cases on their own.

good to know that presidential power to deport will be firmly affirmed... just about the time Trump term ends so that nothing will be done in the end.

Good. Really tired of Executive Orders and policy positions from the bureaucracy binding the next President. If you want something to last, pass a law. Otherwise, the next President should have every right to do things differently than his predecessor.

I've heard some crazy arguments but this one takes the cake!

Court declines to restore Biden-era regulation allowing some deportation proceedings to be suspended
(https://www.scotusblog.com/2026/10/court-declines-to-restore-biden-era-regulation-allowing-some-deportation-proceedings-to-be-suspe/)

In particular, he rejected the cities’ contention that the elimination of the rule would cost them money because their taxpayers are likely to be deported. Democrats not only consider illegal aliens voters they consider them taxpayers. On Aug. 7, three cities with large immigrant populations – Baltimore, Maryland; New Haven, Connecticut; and Columbus, Ohio – and Centro Legal de la Raza, which provides legal services to immigrants, filed an emergency motion to join the case so that they could defend the administrative-closure rule on appeal, when neither Texas nor the federal government intended to do so. I can only assume that their status as cities means LOCAL taxes were their concern.
The levels these people will stoop to in order to gain and maintain power boggles the mind.

JMO, YMMV

“Democrats not only consider illegal aliens voters they consider them taxpayers.”

Well in a way they are tax-payers ... sales tax payers. Everyone pays sales taxes which is why it really is the most fair tax of all. If anyone buys a cheap item, the tax is small. If someone buys an expensive item, the tax is larger. It is consumption based reality. Poor folks don’t often buy Rolls Royce autos so they are not paying a tax for luxury items.

The point here is that while the democrats may lose some tiny percentage of sales tax revenue, it is unlikely to be a significant amount. If a city budget will founder because of a decline in illegal sales tax revenue, that city has poor financial folks.

At what point did you stop reading my reply?

"I can only assume that their status as cities means LOCAL taxes were their concern."

If a city budget will founder...

Flounder is the word for which you're looking.

It’s time to take the mayor and city attorney of Baltimore, New Haven and Columbus into custody for sedition.

Illegal immigrants are a net drain on America.

2023 is the latest year I’ve seen on the numbers.

They paid a total of $93 billion in federal taxes. An estimated $17 billion in state and local sales tax.

And they consumed between schools, services, medical care and other, a total of, local, state and federal $1.7 trillion in spending.

In other words, a minimal net drain of $1.59 trillion.

Legal immigration is terrible too. Legal immigration lowers wages and it needs to be halted for 40 years. The amount of legal immigration we are being subjected to is destabilizing society.

Legal immigration often is of higher level employees who can afford to pay their own way. They are often a net benefit to society. But, not always. Illegal immigrants are a net drain. Legal H-1B is a class of government approved slavery. I have met H-1B’s who literally were forced to submit to sexual abuse, outright rape and told if they complained their sponsorship would be yanked.

They are required to be paid at a certain pay band for work, meaning they don’t tank our wage rates that much, but studies showed that during Biden’s administration, 94% of jobs went to legal and illegal immigrants.

Trump has put a stop to that mess.

Legal immigrants who integrate in our society can lead to benefits for our society. Think Elon, Usha Vance and Melania. Approvals for visas and green cards are at a dramatic low for the last 50 years, and some of the H-1B abusers have been shut down. A lawyer signing on an H-1B must personally attest to the person they’re signing for. One Dallas lawyer has been arrested for immigration fraud for signing over 1.3 MILLION H-1B applications. He literally was just signing for 10 hours a day. That’s it. For over a decade.

Sorry. In my opinion legal immigration is as harmful as illegal immigration.

So tell me how much legal immigration per year is the right amount? 1 million? 10 million, 50 million? And who decides? It’s all a scam .
