There was an ad put out in support of Democrat Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed that has been getting a lot of attention and earning a lot of ire.
It came from Rebellion PAC, which was co-founded by leftist Young Turks online show co-creator Cenk Uygur, who is the uncle of far-left Twitch streamer Hasan Piker. The ad is supporting El-Sayed, who campaigned and shared quality time with Piker during the primary.
The clip features a couple in a grocery store deciding what to buy and saying they have to put the eggs back because that money has to be put aside for "killing Palestinians."
Israelis are responsible for the prices, according to the ad. Then, at the end, it even has a reference saying Republican nominee Mike Rogers is for "they/them," focusing on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and two other Israeli officials that most Americans wouldn't know. Then, ending with "Abdul El-Sayed is for you."
Uygur accused Israel of buying Rogers, claiming the former congressman promised to serve Israel “unconditionally, but never made that promise to you." That's untrue. What Rogers said was that he had "unconditional support for Israel's right to defend herself." Hardly the same.
But the ad understandably immediately earned a lot of backlash and was roundly condemned, including by El-Sayed's Democrat primary opponent, Rep. Haley Stevens (MI-11)

This ad has a “Republican” structure following decades of ads where Repubs campaign on:
“my opponent voted to fund gay beach construction in Odessa and transgender opera in Peru”
Except this is directed at Isreal funding, which has become so unpopular that it can be used as a “closing” ad in a big Statewide campaign.
Inflation is caused by expanding the money supply. Hannity annoys me when he says oil prices cause inflation. Oil prices can go down but unless the money supply is reduced Inflation is a permanent effect.

I didn’t realize that Hasan Piker was Cenk Uygur’s nephew. They’re both vile, although Piker is worse.

I could add that the Muslim population is going up and should have a moving numbers odometer style indicator like the CNN types used during Covid to show people were dropping from deaths by the hour.
And the Muslim population in Michigan is highly energized and as Glenn Beck reported the mosques have vans to directly take worshippers from them to a registration center and have promised to transport Muslims to their polling places, too.
Whereas Jewish people in Michigan vary from “always Dem no matter what” Reform, through Conservative, to Trump supporting observant and Orthodox. Some vote, some don’t.
And a large number of Christians didn’t even register and won’t vote. The one refrain is: “Since it’s a decision between two evils for the lesser of the evil, I will skip voting for any evil by staying home.”
