Russian refiners are raising diesel production in October after the government granted export quotas following the Kremlin's supply agreement with the United States, said two industry sources close to the matter.
US President Donald Trump said on October 9 that Russian President Vladimir Putin had agreed to a deal to supply diesel from Russia to the United States and global markets, with the US temporarily lifting its sanctions on Russian fuel.
Russia confirmed the deal and Trump said that Russia would deliver more than 300,000 metric tons (about 2.25 million barrels) of diesel immediately, followed by another 500,000 tons in November and 1 million tons straight after that. He said Russia would also supply a further 3 million tons, depending on the condition of its refineries.
Traders said that, from October 1, the Russian government had allowed exemptions to its ongoing diesel export ban to issue quotas enabling Russia to supply fuel under the Trump deal.
Since Russia's diesel export ban took effect in August, its oil companies have had to cut production to match domestic needs while limiting supplies to Central Asian countries under intergovernmental agreements.
Industry sources said diesel output in Russia fell in the first half of October to about 160,000 tons per day, from 175,000 tons per day in September. After the new export quotas arrived mid-month, production began to rise towards 180,000 tons per day.
Domestic consumption typically falls to about 140,000 tons per day in October, the sources said, referring to seasonal factors such as the completion of grains harvesting and the summer driving season.
That would leave at least 40,000 tons per day, or more than 1 million tons a month, available for export. About 0.2 million to 0.3 million tons of that may be needed for neighbouring countries, the sources added.

In 2025, the United States consumed approximately 3.89 million barrels of diesel fuel per day.
Z-Man bombs the diesel refineries in 5, 4, 3,...
NONE of it would be happening if Pootin hadn’t attacked & invaded a sovereign country with zero provocation, just to steal some land
Blame Pootin
You war-groupies like to pretend history begins on a day of your choosing.
Hint: It doesn’t.
"Z-Man" hasn't struck Russian refineries since 15 October, while Putin has increased attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. A one sided cease fire.
I like how Trump FINALLY began looking at the Ukraine conflict as a Realist, rather than a Neocon puppet (the Neocons thought, probably still think, that Russia can be brought to their knees by a little pain - hint, pick up a WW2 history book, and try reading it, for once). Anyway, this policy change seems to line up with Tulsi’s visit a couple of weeks ago - really good sign.
That's a good point, the start date should be when Putin took over in 2000 and was able to solidify his planned lifetime of rule, after which he could work to restore Russia to what he thought was its prior territorial greatness.
In the Russian invasion of Georgia in 2008, Bush did nothing and they were thus emboldened and annexed Crimea in 2014 and Obama did nothing there too. Biden's "minor incursion" remark was enough to get that Ukraine invasion kicked off.
So yes, I think Putin's start date is a good one. What does everyone else think?
At this point Europe and it’s replacement migration genocide is far more evil than Russia, but since you have the same goal as the EU of taking all of Russia’s stuff, you don’t care.
Hmmm, another good point. Almost all government stupidity seen in Europe and, indeed, the US is due to the insane policies of dems and their leftist minions. What appears to normal people as stupid is actually a well paced “progressive” plan.
So that’d set the date back well into the 50’s when the Stalinists realized they’d need to infiltrate Western institutions to overthrow them.
Your brain-farts are AMAZING.
You Pootin apologists are APPALLING
The Federal Reserve needs to raise interest rates NOW!!!
