The state’s 1,800 municipal clerks are prohibited from using President Donald Trump’s federal voter database intended to flag noncitizen voters, the Wisconsin Elections Commission ruled Friday.
Accessing the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements database would be “impossible” because state law bars clerks from sharing voters' personal information, the bipartisan commission determined in a unanimous vote.
That law supersedes a U.S. Supreme Court ruling last month that allowed the Trump administration to move ahead with creating the database, commissioners said.
Despite voting for the guidance, Republican commissioner Robert Spindell said he was frustrated with the two other Republicans on the board, who have maintained the state is forbidden from cooperating with the federal departments of Justice and Homeland Security on providing voter registration lists.
Spindell suggested, without evidence, that voting by noncitizens may be widespread, and noted that the Democratic gubernatorial primary in August was decided by fewer than 4,000 votes.
“I believe we should take this problem seriously, as only if 1% or 2% of Wisconsin noncitizen voters could swing a state election or even a close national election, which is possible,” Spindell said. “I do agree with this guidance that we are providing the clerks, indicating they should not, on their own, be involved … and hope I can persuade my other two colleagues to cooperate with the federal departments to help ensure only U.S. citizens are permitted to vote in Wisconsin.”

I guess he showed them!
And how pray tell does the journalist know this?

He said “MAY” be widespread. You don’t NEED evidence to speculate.
“That law supersedes a U.S. Supreme Court ruling last month that allowed the Trump administration to move ahead with creating the database”
yeah, right, sure it does ...
That's a tag to alert normal people that the writer is a left-wing activist.
Similar to naming streets after MLK and Caesar Chavez to alert normal people (of all colors) that this is the dangerous part of town.
Sound like WEC is desperate for illegals to vote, or at least their ballots.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
They are shown it exists. The goalposts are moved.
Then they are shown it exists. The goal posts are moved again.
They are shown elections decided by dozens, hundreds, or a few thousand votes. The goal posts are moved again.
They are shown Presidential elections decided by just a few states going one way or another. And the goal posts are moved again.
Etc. Etc. Etc.
Folks,
Shining the light on this issue will stop many illegal votes even if not implemented now.
Trump’s federal voter database? Really?
LoL!! “Without evidence”
Its so very strange that EVERY story based on confidential or anonymous sources highlighted by the eneMedia is NEVER noticed as being reported without evidence.
How come the election clerks can’t be given the fed’s database of legitimate citizens? Clerks could run their registered voter list against the fed list, and produce a list of apparent non-citizens. Contact them, and let them provide proof of citizenship. If they don’t do so, they come off the voter rolls. This would not cause the State to release private information.
You don’t imagine that the Wisconsin Election Board doesn’t want to stop non-citizen voting?
“Despite voting for the guidance, Republican commissioner Robert Spindell said he was frustrated with the two other Republicans on the board, who have maintained the state is forbidden from cooperating with the federal departments of Justice and Homeland Security on providing voter registration lists.”
Don M. Millis is an appointee of 2020 accomplice Robin Vos, and Marge Bostelmann was appointed by Democratic Governor Evers and also behaved questionably during 2020, siding with the Democrats on mail-in ballots for nursing homes and becoming the only Republican to vote for new Dominion voting machines.
IF STATES HAD NOT SIGNED UP ILLEGALS THEY ARE ALLOWING TO DRIVE THRU MOTOR VOTER SYSTEMS...
THIS WOULD NOT BE SUCH A HUGE PROBLEM.
THEY ALSO SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING.
When does the WEC perp walk start?
IIRC, it is unlawful to disobey a SCOTUS ruling!
