A Washington state school district has agreed to publicly apologize, undergo religious liberty training and pay $275,000 in attorney’s fees after a lawsuit challenged policies that required elementary school students to keep Bibles concealed in sealed envelopes, according to a Christian education organization whose CEO says children felt pressured to hide their faith.
Joel Penton, founder and CEO of LifeWise Academy, told Fox News Digital in an interview Thursday that parents described the emotional toll of the Everett School District’s restrictions, which also included requiring families to submit permission slips every week for their children to attend voluntary, off-campus Bible instruction.
“I also heard from parents that their children felt like they were being told they had to hide their faith when they were told they had to put their Bibles and things in envelopes as though it was something to be ashamed of, and I know that was very hurtful as well,” Penton said.
LifeWise Academy, which provides privately funded Bible instruction to public school students during the school day with parental permission, filed suit after the Everett School District imposed restrictions that the organization argued unfairly targeted its program.
Penton said LifeWise had operated in Everett for several years, serving dozens of students and families, before the school board changed its policies.
“Then the school board changed some of their policies in some ways that were pretty transparently discriminatory and infringed on the religious liberty of our program there,” Penton said. “And some of those policy changes included requiring parents, instead of simply signing a permission slip one time for the entire semester, the entire year, they were requiring them to hand-bring in a permission slip each and every week, which was quite onerous.”

then the town folk should do it... and rest assured, the next “Administrator” will behave him/herself...
“then the town folk should do it.”
All the people doing this crap have addresses.

Seems like a bad idea. One of the parents might walk in on a seminar in fisting and fetishism.
Make an example. When they send armed men to intimidate, make an example of those who sent the armed men.
Yeah. I said it.
You know things are upside down when the Bible is covered by a brown paper wrapper and the sexual deviancy books are prominently displayed in our schools.
Agree. Time to take a stand, or get used to life on one’s knees.
sigh.... ...how I wish I was 30 years younger and had just 4 or 5 friends that were po’d as I get, and had the nads to do something about it.
In fairness, it’s Washington. How can they hope to reduce school shootings if students are allowed to bring triggering objects into schools? A Bible is likely to set off some fragile gay, trans, or otherwise woke student or teacher. Yes, it’s elementary school, but that kind of exposure can turn an eight year old into a ticking time bomb who will shoot the place up in eight or ten years.
It’s like Islamists and Sudden Jihad Syndrome if they see a woman exposed beyond eye slits in a head to toe bag. I’m surprised LeftCoast states don’t already require the girls and female teachers to wear burqas as an obvious safety measure.
Probably one of the communists’ AWFLs had a hand in it.
And yeah, whoever imprlemented this should be dealt with.
Betcha any student displaying a koran didn’t have to hide it...spit.
This is interesting. The tide is turning...hopefully.
Adkins - board member - isn’t in jail? Why not?
The Goofball State.
But I guess the Koran was okay.
I really have to ask what motivates the schools to work so hard to drive out Christianity.
What did they do to children carrying a Koran?
Because the people in charge are in service to their father, the father of lies.
No Korans weren’t in the order.
The problem with the Islamocommie party is mega CHRISTOPHOBIA.
