A viral rumor claiming Texas Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico secretly spent his recent campaign absence at an Ohio behavioral health center has now been debunked — but new questions are emerging over why evidence that could have quickly undercut the allegation was not made public as the speculation exploded online.

Is the information correct or not? That’s the only issue. Isn’t it?
If he WASN’T in the hospital, and no one saw him there, who are they going to sue for malpractice?
“The New York Times reported Monday that it reviewed time-stamped security camera images provided by Talarico’s campaign showing the Democrat at his Austin home between Oct. 1 and Oct. 8, when his nine-day absence from the campaign trail was fueling mounting speculation about his whereabouts.”
The NY Slimes are the same ones who lied and claimed the lesbian who left her children alone was not trying to run down the ICE agent....
Actually this is a good thing- as long as this story stays i the public eye the more it defames talerico...
This is beginning to look like the left having more questions to answer for regarding this before they can strike back about unsubstantiated gossip mongering regarding this person’s absence.
Actually two different issues.
1) Was he in a psych ward? Yes/No
2) If not in psych ward, where was he WITH evidence to prove the claim.
I wonder if his absence was a staged event to bait Republicans into speculation to discredit them.
If it was debunked by the NYT then I don’t accept it at all.
Before I regard it as “debunked”, it is going to require another source.
Who says it was Repuklicans... libtards? More likely it was liberal filth that came up with a story to provide a cover story for the truth, which 9 out of 10 times for Demonic Party filth is ten times worse.
Because Talarico’s absence occurred during a high-profile, competitive Senate race against Republican incumbent Ken Paxton, it prompted intense political speculation.
A rumor claiming Talarico had secretly flown to Ohio to check into the Lindner Center of Hope for mental health treatment. Both Talarico and the Ohio facility officially debunked this claim, with Talarico noting he has never even been to Ohio.
Ken Paxton and Donald Trump mocked his absence at a campaign rally, with Trump jokingly suggesting Talarico was sick from breaking his dietary habits to eat meat for votes.
Paxton and other Republicans posted fake “missing” posters online demanding “proof of life.”
Talarico officially returned to the public campaign trail on Friday, October 9, 2026, making an appearance at the Austin City Limits Music Festival. He has since dismissed the rumors as “silly season” and used his return to publicly pressure Paxton to accept upcoming debate invitations.
I figured it was gender reassignment surgery...guess I was wrong!
Who know what is true? The Left can steal elections, surely have have the know-how to create time-stamped security camera images of anyone anywhere.
It sure took a while for tally-wacko to produce this excuse.
Sickening to see FNC cheerleading the little creep.
Well i'm sure convinced
I don’t know what really happened with him but I will tell you that his disappearance for 12 days and his reappearance looking completely healthy is suspicious.
The hospital has issued a statement saying that Talarico has never been there.
Talarico’s disappearance for 12 days and his
reappearance looking completely healthy is suspicious.
That it is.
Because there are still contradictions in his story:
With SI (AI) these days it is not hard to fake images and the sources - NY Slimes and Talifreako's campaign are as far from reliable as they come.
If the rumor is false, the Talarico campaign should provide select media outlets and the Paxton campaign with a minute-by-minute accounting of Talarico’s whereabouts over the past three weeks.
Furthermore, the Talarico campaign should be held financially responsible for any expenses incurred by the Paxton campaign or independent investigators while chasing down the Ohio mental hospital rumor.
