The Trump administration has warned Ukraine and allies in Europe that the US could suspend intelligence sharing and European purchases of US weapons for Ukraine if Kyiv does not halt its deep strikes on Russian energy facilities, two European officials told CNN.

The warnings from the State Department and the Pentagon were sent over the weekend to officials in Ukraine and Europe, including communications from the US military directly to Ukrainian commanders.

A US official said that US negotiators told the Ukrainians the United States was a strong partner, providing munitions and intelligence, and so Ukraine shouldn't take actions that hurt American consumers.

Ukraine is indisputably working against essential US interests.

Sucks to be them, but that's the way it is.

Realpolitik prevails.

Isn’t it too late for Trump to threaten witholding weapons systems? Didn’t the government already give ukraine the plans for patriot systems so they can build their own? WHy in the world would we ever give ANY country the plans/means to build their own sophisticated weapons? Stupidity. Doesn’t matter if its GOP or DNC, they’re all screwing us over.

“Didn’t the government already give ukraine the plans for patriot systems so they can build their own?”

No.

Has not progressed beyond talks with the tech owners.

The US would probably not object.

Ukraine is indisputably working against essential US interests.

Germany, Britain, and every other country providing Ukraine with technology and intelligence to strike Russia is as well

Yep, its Ukraine's fault we haven't built a new oil refinery since 1976

Its Ukraine's fault we had two refineries close in California in 2025 and 2026.

Its Ukraine's fault we have a lack of pipeline capacity connecting the Gulf Coast to the Northeast (New England) forcing us to import fuel to the northeast.

Its Ukraine's fault that at the Strait of Hormuz oil tankers are being attacked which has forced tankers to be idle or has considerably raised the price for oil tanker transit.

Hormuz Traffic Down 18%, Darks Stay South 9–11 Oct averaged 11.7 transits a day, down from 14.3 the weekend before. 16 of the 35 were craft under 100 m, and 6 of the 8 dark crossings used the southern corridor.

Russia is increasing its attacks upon Ukraine and threatening to increase those attacks even more. So, what is Ukraine supposed to do? Sit by idly and be conquered? If Ukraine agrees to stop attacking Russian oil facilities, would that help facilitate the Russian takeover of Ukraine? If that is the case, why would Ukraine agree to stop? What motivation does Ukraine have to stop? Does Trump simply want them to surrender?

No.

But it’s Ukraine’s fault that Russian diesel (2nd largest exporter after US) is substantially reduced.

” Does Trump simply want them to surrender?”

Essentially, yes.

Agree to Russian demands for the annexed territories.

Never join or host NATO.

What do you think we did in WW 2? We sank Japanese tankers and bombed Ploesti and targeted German fuel production. Ukraine is trying to shut down the Russian war machine and one component of that strategy is to target fuel production. Ukraine is fighting for its survival after being brutally attacked by the world's largest sponsor of state terrorism. It's hard to fault Ukraine for trying to cripple the Russian war machine.

Ukraine is pursuing its’ legitimate interests.

And the US is pursuing its’ legitimate interests too.

There’s a conflict.

I agree with you on your top 4 points! I also am a hard line supporter of Trump, even if he is wrong, which sometimes he is, and this is one of those times.

Ukraine is to Russia and Putin what Israel is to Islam. Yes, Zelensky is probably a crook. But, what else is new!
